Grading• Ongoing assessment of
student progress is reported to parents via student progress reports.
• Assessments may include individual running records of text reading, phonemic awareness phonics inventories, reading rate, fluency rubrics, developmental reading assessments, and teacher created assessments to assess the student’s progress in all aspects of the reading process. Back
Expectations• In the Reading Room:
follow school-wide behavior policiesbring supplies (reading bag and books)
• At Home:take home books in reading baglisten to someone read to youread with someone at homeread to someone at homeenjoy literacy

Homework• Students are assigned
texts according his/her individual reading level. Students are expected to read these texts, as well as, self-selected reading materials.
• Some students will be assigned poems or plays to read at home.
• Have fun with literacy – Read, Read, Read!

• All supplies are provided for students in the Reading Room.

8:00-10:30 – Individualized Reading Instruction
10:30-11:00-3rd grade tutorial
11:00-11:45-Conference
11:45-12:15-Lunch
12:15-1:30-3rd grade group instruction
1:45-2:30-2nd grade group instruction
2:30-3:30-Planning, meetings, parent conferences, etc.
