MILESTONES…

Record production (130.69 lakh MT) & productivity ( 5182 kg / hectare ) of wheat during 2011-12. Yield of wheat during 2011-12 is ever highest in the country.

2nd Largest Contributor of wheat to the central pool.

Contributed 86.65 lakh MT of Wheat to the Central-Pool during 2011-12 which is all time record.

Haryana State selected for “Krishi Karman Award” in wheat during 2010-11 & 2011-12 being best performing state.

100% treatment of certified seed of Wheat since 2010-11.

Pioneer in Zero-tillage Technology.

Management of Yellow Rust Area of Sirsa, Yamunanagar, Panchkula, Ambala, Kurukshetra & Karnal distt.

have been identified as most vulnerable to yellow rust disease.

Yellow rust resistant varieties like DBW-17, WH-542, HD-2967, DPW-621-50 &

PBW-550 promoted in susceptible areas.

Regular and joint Surveillance of the yellow rust disease.

Awareness Campaign to educate the farmers about Symptoms & Control

measures.

Provision of Propiconazole 25 % EC on 50% subsidy to control yellow rust.

(7500 litre of Tilt supplied to effected districts)

DEMONSTRATION ON

DIRECT SEEDING OF RICE (DSR)

ADVANTAGES OF DSR

Saves 25-30 % irrigation water. Saves energy & labour. Reduces drudgery by eliminating transplanting operation. Environment friendly. Advancement in sowing of subsequent crop. Yield almost at par with traditional method. Decreases the total cost of cultivation of the farmers by Rs. 2000 – 2500

per/acre. Helpful in checking the practice of stubble burning.
