Welcome to the Ford Customer Service Division Part Termination Notice (PTN) training module. The purpose of the PTN system is to notify suppliers when a Service part has been obsoleted by FCSD and to collect information regarding tooling related to those parts. New PTNs are issued and uploaded into the system once a month. For further information, click the “Frequently-Asked Questions” link located on the Login page. 1

Welcome to the Ford Customer Service Division Part Termination Notice (PTN) training module.

The purpose of the PTN system is to notify suppliers when a Service part has been obsoleted by FCSD and to collect information regarding tooling related to those parts. New PTNs are issued and uploaded into the system once a month.

For further information, click the “Frequently-Asked Questions” link located on the Login page.

If you already have access to the PTN system, enter your credentials and click “Login”.

To request access to the PTN system, click the “Request Access” link to be directed to an online form. If you are experiencing difficulty logging into the system, click the “Access Assistance” link.

After logging in, you will be directed to the PTN Workbox for the Site Code(s) you’ve been granted access to. The number of PTNs pending a response to Ford will be shown in the lower-left corner of the workbox.

If more than 10 PTNs appear, navigate through the workbox by clicking the individual page numbers.

To begin, click a “PTN ID” and a pop-up will appear indicating one of two possibilities:

1. Based on Ford Motor Company records, the tooling for this part number is currently being used to produce other parts

2. Based on Ford Motor Company records, the tooling for this part number is no longer required and may be eligible to be scrapped

In the example below, clicking PTN ID “100” displays a message indicating that this tooling may be currently used to produce other parts for Ford. To continue, click the link shown in the pop-up.

On this page, you will be required to provide Tool Asset information and associated Part Number(s) for this tooling. Begin by clicking “Add Tool Asset”. When finished entering a Tool Asset,click “Add” on the 3rd page of the pop-up.

Service Part No. 1

Repeat for each Tool Asset that needs to be entered.

All Tool Asset information will now be displayed in the grid. To edit or delete individual Tool # information, click the appropriate icon. If no changes are required, click “Add Part” to continue.

When the “Add Part” pop-up appears, provide the required information and click “Add”. Continue clicking “Add Part” until all applicable part numbers have been entered.

All Part Number information will now be displayed in the grid. To edit or delete individual Part # information, click the appropriate icon. If no changes are required, click “Next” to continue.

After all Tool Asset and Part Number information has been provided for a PTN, the pop-up shown below will appear. In order for this PTN to be removed from your workbox and the information submitted to Ford, you must read and check each of the five boxes, and provide your Name, Email and Phone. When finished, click “Submit”.

If you have additional PTNs in your workbox, click the next ID. (Note that PTN ID 100 is no longer in the list after being processed.)

In the example below, PTN ID “101” displays a message indicating that this tooling appears to no longer be required.

If you agree, click “I agree”. If you do not agree, click “I do not agree”. Based on your selection, you will be directed to the appropriate set of questions.

IMPORTANT: Selecting “I agree” does not authorize you to scrap tooling without approval from Ford Motor Company.

For purposes of this training module, we’ll begin by clicking “I agree”.

Service Part No. 12

On this page, you will be required to provide Tool Asset information and associated Part Number(s) for this tooling. Begin by clicking “Add Tool Asset”. When finished entering a Tool Asset,click “Add” on the 3rd page of the pop-up.

For purposes of this training model, we’ll now click “I do not agree”.

On this page, you will be required to provide information regarding other Ford customers you supply this part to (if applicable) as well as the Tool Asset and Part Number information. When finished, click “Next”.

After all Customer information, Tool Asset and Part Number information has been provided for a PTN, the pop-up shown below will appear. In order for this PTN to be removed from your workbox and the information submitted to Ford, you must read and check each of the five boxes, and provide your Name, Email and Phone. When finished, click “Submit”.

Once all PTNs have been processed, your workbox will display “No Part Termination Notices Found”. If additional PTNs are issued by Ford the following month, you will receive an email notification.
