St. Augustine Cathedral School,in partnership with parents and the Catholic Church,welcomes and shapes young people as they grow in

faith, knowledge and stewardship.

Come celebrate our school community Friday, November 6, 6pm in the Crowley Center!

• We’re inviting you for hors d’oeuvres, drinks and dinner. • Our keynote speaker is Paco Gavrilides of Sacred Heart Seminary.

• We always round out the evening with music and dancing.

• Lunch is from 10:50-11:20, followed by recess from 11:20-11:40

MAP Testing

• Measures progress in Math, Reading, and Language

• Taken in the Fall, Winter, and Spring• The goal is for students to grow at least 1

grade level throughout the year in each subject

Grading

• 100% of report card grade is based on summative assessments

• HW assignments and tests below 80% will be corrected, with the support of a re-teaching session

• Students with late homework will need to stay in for recess to complete

• Grades can be viewed on Power School, which is updated at least weekly

• School-wide classroom management system• Specific to each activity, very detailed

expectations• C=Conversation level• H=How to seek help• A=Activity expectations• M=Movement around room• P=Participation for active involvement

Odds & Ends• The Accelerated Reading goal is 12 points for the first semester and 14 points

for the second semester. Students will receive a homework pass upon goal completion. These passes can be used on any homework assignment with the exception of large projects and papers. They cannot be used for tests.
