SPHS Graduation Requirements
By the end of:
freshman year = 60 credits
sophomore year = 120 credits
junior year = 180 credits
senior year = 230 credits
Credits required for graduation from SPUSD: 230
Students are required to maintain a 2.0 overall unweighted GPA to participate in the graduation ceremony.

How to register for your classes for your freshman year at SPHS
Reference the Freshman Registration forms in the previous slide for detailed information. The registration form is for your reference ONLY.

Circled classes are available to freshmen, and indicate the first class in a series of courses to complete a career tech education pathway.
Note: Cyber Security is a new course that will also be available to freshmen in 2020-2021

World Language• All incoming freshmen who are interested in a World Language
course will be assessed, by phone, by a Santa Paula High School teacher. For questions about assessment, please contact Alfredo Varela at [email protected]
• All students currently taking Spanish at Isbell, will be placed in the correct level of Spanish at SPHS by their current Spanish teacher.
Fine Art• Art 1
• Drawing
• Intro to Media, Arts and Design (MAD) – this is the first course in the Design, Visual and Media Arts pathway
Performing Arts
• Jazz Ensemble
• The fall semester (only) of the following courses also count as the student’s PE requirement:
– Instrumental Music
– Percussion Ensemble
– Color Guard
Honors Classes
• Requires a commitment from students and parents

Athletics• All incoming 8th grade students must have a 2.0 grade
point average to participate in athletics per CIF.
