our goal. It signifies the change we must manage and the shift we must undertake to become more relevant if we are to achieve
our Increased Collective Impact goal.
Pink Rectangle
The measureable change we can make in the lives of women and girls if we are all working together-at all levels-on the same project with the same goals.
What is Collective Impact?
Why is Collective Impact Important to SoroptimistAs a member of a global organization, you joined your club to be part of something beyond your local community. And that something is the combined effort of all Soroptimist clubs to improve the lives of women and girls. We call that Increased Collective Impact—or, the direction we’re moving in as an organization … through our programs … creating greater recognition … leading to greater resources to achieve our vision of a world where women and girls have the resources and opportunities to reach their full potential and live their dreams. -Elizabeth Lucas SIA Executive Director
How do we Shape the Future of SIA?
Collective Impact represents a collective effort of SIA’s clubs, districts, regions, board and staff as we work to:
Improve the lives of women and girls Measure the level of sustainable improvement in
their lives Advance SIA’s recognition as an effective global
women’s issues organization Attract more resources to further increase our impact
What Can Clubs Do?
Shaping the Future asks for just a few key things from clubs
•Focus on projects, especially the WOA, which help women and girls gain access to education
•Support the Live Your Dream initiative
•Make Soroptimist your charity of choice
Analyzing Your Club’s Projects/Programs
Questions to ask:•Does the program/project support the Soroptimist mission?
•How does your club’s monetary and member support make a long term impact on women and girls?
•For the amount of monetary support your club provides, can your club determine how many women and girls’ lives are impacted?
*If your club can not honestly answer these questions then an evaluation needs to be considered to restructure the program or design a new and different program.
