More information is available at: www.lincolnrighttolife.org Bishop’s Appeal for Vocations: This collection is the main source of funding for our seminarians’ education, including our own parish- ioner, Allan Phan. Of the $1.2 million the diocese spends on semi- nary education, $800,000 of this is needed from the parishes; our Sa- cred Heart goal/assessment this year is $11,540. This covers about 1/3 of the room-board-tuition for Allan’s final year of education. My hope is that we raise these funds by the end of October. We have a new system this year. Instead of getting a card and bro- chure in the mail, you will pick up everything here at the church. You can stop by and make your donation in the back of church, on Sunday, Oct 1 (the day after Septemberfest), or on Saturday-Sunday, Oct. 7-8. Or, if you prefer, you can take your card home with you, and bring it back to church the following week with your donation. Please make sure you turn in your “pledge card” with your donation, because it shows your record number and makes it much easier for us to process it for the diocese. Also important: all checks should be made to: Bishop’s Appeal for Vocations, and NOT to the parish. The year-end tax acknowledgment will come from the diocese. To give electronically, you have two options. You may write down your email address on the card and they will send you a link for mak- ing a donation. Or you can simply visit https:/give.cornerstone.cc/ BAV, and make a donation electronically there. Thank you for your generosity towards the education of our future priests.—Fr. Kosch
