The new company buildung combines administration and production in one site,In Kornwestheim as well. First occupancy is planned for the middle of 2017.

The company Robos is one of the leading manufacturers of upscale adhesive labels for over 55 years and has customers from different industrial sectors worldwide. As a modern fami-ly company we value a partnerlike cooperation and collegiality.

Investitions in newest technologies, stability and steady growth consolidate our market position and provide social security to our employees.

Facts

The company Robos has ca. 90 permanent employees with an annual turnover of 11.3 million (in 2015). Current administra-tion site is Moldengraben in Kornwestheim, the production site is Schwanheim. In the year 2017 the merging of administration and production in Kornwestheim is planned.

We produce using following printing techniques: digital printing, silk screen, flexo, letterpress printing. Production of booklet and leaflet labels and stampings.

A campaign for Coca-Cola in a networkwith 17 European printing companies

Personalised labels, produced in digital printing

A unique action excites the consumers

For the unusual advertising campaign Coca-Cola needed about 800 million personalised labels within 4 months. Regar-ding the volume and proccess security of that large project, a single company couldn‘t stem it alone, so an international network of 17 European companies has been assigned.

Labels printed conventionally and digitally

The basic label has been printed conventionally using flexo printing. The personalisation with different names was completed using digital printing. 20 digital printing machines of Indigo WS 6600 type by Hewlett Packard were in action. The special challenge was here to reproduce the Coca-Cola red color consistently in best quality on a bottle label regard-less of the printing method.

Robos has been chosen as the one of two German partners for this project due to our experience and competence in digital printing. Robos had invested in a second HP Indigo WS 6600 and herewith elevated the capacities massively. Now Robos owns two of the most productive and versatile label printing machines of the industry.

High print runs and high quality

This project has shown that digital printing can also cope with very high print runs without any problems. At the same time company Robos has proved that they are capable to produce large numbers and to meet the require-ments in quality and color consistancy of a significant global player.

The structure of a multi layer label

A multi layer label has several layers. It consists of an top layer with text information, images or pictograms and at least one lower layer with a further space for information. This way you have a sophisticated solution with lots of space for information and references if a simple label does not provide enough space.

More possibilities than you think.

When the label is sealed you cannot see the lower layers. By unfolding the top layer, which is connected to the lower layers, the information on the back side of the top layer and on the lo-wer layers previously hidden becomes visible to a viewer. Here a lot of additional or even sensitive information can be placed.

Not only the labels on chemicals have to contain so manysafety instructions, that the available space on the productis usually not enough.Multi layer labels are also perfect for the presentation of amulti-lingual information and recipes or when special promo-tional actions have to be advertised, for example sweepstakes.Here an individual winning code or any other voucher action can be placed on the inside of the label.

The label of your product will not be overloaded.

Another advantage of a multi layer label is that the designof the product will not be overloaded needlessly by too biglabels or by excessive information. Those will be placedsubtle within the multi layer label. Multi layer labels are alsooften called multilayer-, sandwich- or peel-off labels.

Lots of information in a small place

Booklet- and leaflet labels are small folded brochures on an adhesive label. The advantage lies within the high information density on a smallest space. The usage of a leaflet label hardly differs from that of a usual adhesive booklet label. However when opened, it uncovers the information on the inner pages. The highlight is that the folded and self-adhesive brochure is not only easy to open, but it also will be produced as reclos-able one. Due to inner pages being folded, a basic label sized100 x 100 mm can contain up to 10 sheets without any problems, which again equals to 20 pages of information. Your label carries a lot of information, but the attractive looks of your products remains the same due to the space-saving booklet- and leaflet label.

Flexible and individualised – tailored to your wishes.

The label itself can be designed flexible as well. Thus not only squared, but also round, oval or special shapes are possible.

Another advantage is the multi-functinality of booklet andleaflet labels. Whether flat or conic surfaces, this label canbe sticked anywhere, where a usual anhesive label can come into action. In this way you can export your products to any-where you want and have to apply just one booklet or leaflet label. The many possibilities on the inside allow for placing numerous information, for example multilingual texts, without any problems.

Weatherproof booklet and leaflet labels –for outdoor use if required.

The material of the folded brochure depends on the later application. For usual requirements in a dry surroundingpaper will be used mostly. However, for higher duties likefor example in wet environment, plastic materials can be processed.Hence the booklet and leaflet labels can be manufacturedfor example for outdoor duties at a building site and containassembly instructions and other important information.

Quality at first sight

Since the relaunch the organic oil mill presents itself with a completely new look of their products. Due to hundred hand-drawn illustrations each product is designed individually.

Color challenge

For the versatile products and product groups the finely tuned colors have been chosen and had to be reproduced brillantly and in color accordance with the packaging in label print. For the optimum implementation of the particularly developed design, the digital printing at Robos with its 7-colors-printing offers the whole color spectre and almost any desired color tone. Separate parts of a label can be backed with white color for a better readability.

Here it is important, that there are no color variations and the color consistancy is also guaranteed for the further label productions. The challenge for the label printing is to adjust

the printing colors optimally to the pantone colors initially defined by the design. With the help of multiple preprints and tests Robos came closer to the exact color tone of each single product color and this way we could provide the defined euros-cale colors to Ölmühle Solling for creating the corresponding templates.

Clearly defined goals have been reached.

The fine illustrations of the newly designed labels had to beimplemented very detailed. Here the digital printing machineHP Indigo WS 6600 comes into action. The resolutionis up to 812 x 1219 dpi, which allows for brilliance, depth andsharpness of the printed product.

The label material and the imprint have to be robust enoughso they can weather the life cycle of bottles and glasseswithout any problems. As a suitable material only foillabels could be considered, because paper labels would soakwith oil or other food and also soil.

Colourface products are innovative stickers for direct skin contact. Most commonly the labels for face are being reques-ted. However other body parts like e.g. arms, legs or chest are possible at any time. The Colourface labels are made of a

special skin friendly material and are easy to peel of and stick on again in constrast to decorative make up or water solub-le tattoos. Colourface is laboratory tested and is absolutely harmless to health.
