WELCOME TO POKDear fellow casting enthusiast,
Thank you for spending time reading about castings and our wonderful world of molten metal. If you are a little bit like me, chances are you didn’t know what foundry meant until you needed to know what foundry meant; you see, it is not a casual topic. So, the fact that you are reading about us is not occurring by chance but rather by choice, and a good choice too!
Welcome to POK! Home to a bunch of passionate people, working together to transform molten metal into a complex product. Shortly, you will deep dive into reading and learning about our capabilities, our capacity, techniques and value-added operations and hopefully, it will trigger your interest in doing business with us; I hope! But before you do so, I have one shot at trying to explain to you what behaviors inspire and drive us as a team to not only make a casting but enjoy making it.
- Diversity of work: Everything is different every day! From a new inquiry for a casting we have never seen to a new challenge with a mature product. This keeps us fresh, alert and focused. We embrace this atmosphere which daily challenges our technical skills.
- Curiosity: Yes, continuous improvement is what enables an organization to evolve; but the process is so much more rewarding, fun and effective when it is generated through the curiosity of the team. Dreaming “what if’s” and making them come true, has given us a competitive advantage through really cool innovative ideas. - Core Focus: We are here to make products (out of castings) and we remind ourselves of that every day. Keeping our focus on our core, keeps us lean and avoids making our relationships complex; we want to make complex products but in a simple way. - Open Communication: Many times challenging yet always powerful! When the team understands the why, it makes the what move very fast! - Safety: A relentless focus on our safety has given us a sense of family; we take care of each other while we enjoy working together.
While you go through the rest of our introduction, do so keeping in mind our behaviors and inspiration to serve you right! Ultimately, the space and opportunity for us to live our passion is thanks to you; our customer.

PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT CENTER
Our product development center was specially designed to fast-track first-article development and alongside our internal pattern shop; we can manufacture either permanent tooling or rapid prototyping solutions to meet your project needs.
We use a wide range of materials for tool and pattern making: Wood, Resin, Foam, Aluminum and rapid prototyping (Fused Deposition Modeling or Stereolithography)
INVESTMENT CASTINGMOLDING
We have two molding lines ready to suit your needs depending on geometry and required tolerances. We offer traditional lost-wax castings and our own proprietary technique called “soluble molding” which can produce large investments castings up to 1,000 pounds.
SAND CASTINGMOLDING
We are flexible and set-up for both long runs as well as small quantity orders. In our traditional floor molding line, we can pour geometries up to 80” L x 80” W x 60” H and up to 8,000 pounds in weight. Our flaskless no-bake line allows us to pour castings up to 45” L x 40” W x 50” H and up to 1,000 pounds in weight.
MELTINGOur eight electric induction furnaces which vary in size give us the flexibility to make small heats and large heats depending on your needs.
We also have a vacuum induction melting and pouring furnace (VIM) for casting specialty alloys with a capacity to pour molds up to 24” ⌀ and 36” H and 200 pounds in weight.

SERIAL NUMBER TRACEABILITY Every single one of our castings has a “unique serial number” allowing us to have one of the strictest traceability systems available.it is very important to us, to maintain our processes as lean as we can. With the ability to track serial numbers that are linked to their heat number, we have a very tight control of the manufacturing process. Our on-the-floor ERP “Inari” is a live tracking software that always allows us to have eyes on the location and status of each casting.
QUALITY FOCUSED We comply with international standards like API, ASME, NACE, ISO and ASTM throughout all its manufacturing processes.
COMMITTED TO ON-TIME DELIVERY• Privileged location in Guadalajara, Mexico (Airport code: GDL)• Typical transit time by truck to Texas: less than a week• Ability to expedite shipping through air-freight services as well as land hot-shot services.
ONCE UPON A TIME...
A gentleman by the name Francisco Okhuysen Avis migrated from Holland to Mexico in search of new
opportunities.
He started a sugar mill (Trapiche) and realized new technology could
be applied.
Francisco named his business after his
son, Pablo Okhuysen (Mr. POK)
POK expands to other markets outside sugar
mills now serving the oil and gas industry and starts
exporting to the USA.
Foundry expansion that doubled our melting capacity.
Vacuum Induction Melting furnace is installed and we gain ISO 9001:2015
certification
Product Development Center designed to fast-track first-article
development is inaugurated
We are now part of the Nucor Family (headquartered in
Charlotte, NC)
POK2 will be ready to operate and become
the safest, most modern, and most efficient steel
foundry in North America.
Our first pour! Francisco established a small
foundry and machine shop for spare parts for
his sugar mill.
During the Mexican Revolution, Emiliano Zapata
dynamited the sugar mill leaving Francisco only with
the foundry (sugar mill spare part shop).
Our first CNC machine is installed, and we
become 100% electric melting.
