Welcome and Announcements
Prelude “Prelude” J.S. Bach
*Call to Worship
L: For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, P: but we have one who in every respect has been tested as we are, yet without sin. L: Let us therefore approach the throne of grace with boldness, P: so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need. *Opening Hymns “O Worship the King” No. 73 *Opening Prayer Everlasting God, because of Your tender mercy toward all people,
You sent Your Son, our Savior Jesus Christ, to take upon himself
our flesh, and to suffer death upon the cross, that all should follow
the example of His great humility. Mercifully grant that we may
follow the example of His patience and also be made participants
of His resurrection; through the same Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
*Glory Be the Father No. 70
Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Ghost; as it was
in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
Amen.

PRAYERS, JOYS AND CONCERNS
Lord God, Creator of humankind, we bring before You hearts which
rejoice in response to Your undying love, love which You have made
manifest upon the cross, the symbol of our faith in You. Faithful
God…Hear our prayer.
We pray that You will have mercy upon us as we face the bitterness, the confusion, the ugliness of this world of sin. Help us as we strive to withstand the temptations of selfishness, greed, vanity and pride. Teach us to be thoughtful toward those whom we meet today and in the coming week. Faithful God…Hear our prayer. We commend to Your holy keeping all who this day are far from home and friends, all who suffer pain, all who are facing danger. Give to all Your people a sense of Your presence, that loneliness may turn into comfort and trouble into peace. Faithful God…Hear our prayer.
As we leave Your service of worship, grant that we may walk with hearts and minds reconciled with You and with each other. Faithful God…Hear our prayer.
We pray for the joy of lives surrendered to Christ’s love and service and the peace of sin forgiven through the power of His cross. Faithful God…Hear our prayer.
Now, without mentioning specifics, you may call out the names or
situations that are in need of God’s healing, saving and comforting
grace. Faithful God…Hear our prayer.
