What does Kindergarten look like?

• 3 hours of instructional time

• 100 minutes devoted to literacy each day

• Other curricular areas include: math, social studies, science, health, art, physical education and music.

• Maximum number of students in a class is 33 (during overlap portion of the day)

• Motivating, exciting, nurturing, loving, challenging environment

EL/SEI Kindergarten Class

• New addition to Oak Creek• Allows for newcomer English Learners to

attend their home school while receiving ELD support.

• Curriculum and Standards are the same as mainstream kindergarten.

• Daily instruction and support in English vocabulary, grammar, speaking, reading, writing and listening.

• Each class is currently divided into 2 sessions that overlap in the middle.
