At the end of the school day

School finishes at 3.25pmChildren will be taken to the

outdoor classroom.Children must wait until their

parent/carer is here and tell the teacher before they go.

If there are changes please let us know either at the beginning of the day or by contacting the school office.

Good to be Green

On a Friday all children who have been in the ‘green’ all week will receive a ‘Good to be Green’ sticker.

Yellow cards are given to children who continue to make the wrong behaviour choices after receiving a verbal warning.

Red cards are awarded for serious incidents or for continuous wrong choices after receiving a yellow card. Parents will be informed if their child receives a red card.

JC Hives

All the children in the school have been placed into 4 hives (purple, yellow, orange and blue).

Children will be awarded ‘bee tokens’ for following the JC Promises and these will be added to the hive total.

Prizes and treats will be awarded to the hive with the most points.

Homework• Reading books • Spellings linked to weekly phonics• Family talk topics• Weekly Maths Task• Show and Tell

– Each child will be given a date for their show and tell presentation. They may bring in any item that is special to them in and will have the chance to share and talk about this to the class. This is a great way to develop all of the children's speaking and listening skills.

Reading Books Reading books are changed 3 times per

week on a Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

If your child has read at home, please re-read the same book. Look closely at the story, asking questions to develop their understanding of how stories are written.

Phonics We will be running a parent information

evening on phonics to help you understand how we teach phonics and ways you can support your child. This will be on:

Thursday 9th October A further evening will be available closer to the time of the phonics screening check.

Parents Reading Morning

Oak class has PRM on Tuesdays from 8.50-9.05 and we hope you will take the opportunity to come into the classroom and read with your child. This will start from next Tuesday.

Free School Meals!!!From September 2014, the

Department of Education has provided funding for all children in KS1 to be offered a free school meal.

A meat AND vegetarian option is available everyday.

If you are interested in this option, please see the office who will be able to arrange this for you.
