Myrtle Avenue has a behavior program to help students govern themselves in a democratic manner. Rules
have been made – everyone knows them – and we administer them fairly to everyone. When a student chooses
to follow the rules of the school, they receive the privileges of good citizenship. When students break the rules,
they are held accountable. The principal and teachers teach or review the rules at the beginning of the year to
give an overview of appropriate student behavior. Myrtle Avenue School builds our behavior program on
caring, fairness, trustworthiness, citizenship, respect, safety, and responsibility. We follow the board approved;
Positive Behavior Intervention Systems Framework (PBIS)
