Worship Worship Worship Worship ----New Year’s Day New Year’s Day New Year’s Day New Year’s Day

*CALL TO WORSHIP (based on Isaiah 60:1-3 & Rev. 22:16).................Liturgist Anna Vosicky

Leader: Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord has risen upon thee!

People: Nations shall come to Your light O Lord, and rulers to the glory of Your bright Morning Star.

All: This morning, let us worship the Lord: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit!

*HYMN #66 “We Three Kings” *PRAYER OF CONFESSION (unison)…………………………………………….Ron Kreinbrook

Merciful God, giver of all our days, crossing the threshold of a new year we come before You in need of Your grace. We confess that in these anxious times we often clutch at anything besides Your peace. We choose bare survival over the abundant life You offer us. We find it hard to trust You. Help us in the coming days and months of this new year to place our lives daily in Your care. Remind us that there will always be enough grace to sustain us, no matter what this year may bring. Teach us to live as a hopeful people, confident in your faithful care. In the name of Jesus Christ we pray .

*Good News of God’s Forgiveness (based on Psalm 103)………………………Ron Kreinbrook

Leader: Give thanks to the Lord for he is good. The Lord is compassionate and gracious; slow to anger, abounding in steadfast love.

People: He will not keep His anger forever. He has not dealt with us according to our sins, nor punished us according to our iniquities.

Leader: For as the heavens are high above the earth, so great is His mercy toward those who love and revere Him. As far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from us.

All: The good news of the Gospel is this, in Jesus Christ, we are forgiven!

*RESPONSE #40 “Joy to the World” (verses 1, 3 & 4) *PASSING OF THE PEACE………………………………………………….Liturgist Anna Vosicky LIFE OF THE CONGREGATION……………..…………………………………….Ron Kreinbrook CHILDREN’S MESSAGE………………………………………………………………Julie Havener

. . . . For those with cancer

Continued prayers for Laurie Hedgecock, friend of Sally & Stan Docter, who is dealing with Stage IV Rectal Cancer with multiple metastases to her liver. Her last two CT scans showed that she is in remission. This is a good thing, however, she's still on chemo via infusion every 3 weeks and oral chemo 7 days on /7 days off. The oral chemo makes her very sick. Please continue your prayers heavenward for Laurie and her family. Continued prayers for healing and strength as my aunt, Phyllis Meister, battles cancer. ...Ashley Gregory Please continue to pray for Cheryl Havener, sister-in-law of Julie Havener, as she undergoes chemo therapy treatments for breast cancer. Cheryl began chemo treatments in early August and will continue them through the end of the year. Please continue to pray for Grace Fry, 9 year old daughter of Jeff & Mandy Fry and granddaughter of Greg & Sharon Schnasse, friends of Alice Miller, who has been diagnosed with Leukemia. She was sent to Children’s Hospital in Omaha and placed on medication that is making her very weak. Pray that she improves and will feel better soon. Please continue to pray for Melissa Rogers & Family, friends of Julie Havener, as she battles a rare and serious cancer. Melissa has chosen not to treat growth of the cancer in her vertebrae and rib bones, but continues to treat existing tumors with a milder form of chemo. Her courage and optimism inspire everyone.

. . . . For those with other health concerns

Brin Jinright (Freshmen in high school), (Tammy Mousel's, Supervisor's Daughter) is doing a little better. She is at home and getting Peritoneal Dialysis at home. On 11/14 she started her Freshman year with the rest of her classmates. At this point she is going for 1/2 the day. In the next week or two she will try going all day as she's able to tolerate it.
