Welcome toApplying Technology

What will we be doing this nine weeks?

We will be exploring many different subjects related to technology.

We will be doing hands on projects We will be working with computers and other

Hi-Tech Equipment We will learn how technology affects our lives We will hopefully have fun learning new

things

We will use MODULES to help us learn about technology A module consists of a computer, software,

and hands on equipment. You will work on a module for seven sessions,

and then you will rotate to a new one. Seven module sessions are called one

ROTATION You will usually have a partner to work with. The books in your module are called the

MODULE LIBRARY There are worksheets in the trays to go with

each module

List of Modules

Computer Graphics and Animation Robots CNC Manufacturing Computer Aided Design Electricity Creative Solutions CNC Lathe Engineering Bridges

List of Modules (continued)

Rocketry and Space ($6.00) Flight Technology Tools and Machines ($6.00)

Some InformationYou will be able to complete

FOUR modules this nine weeks

You will get to pick your top two choices of modules

You do not get to choose your partner

Our ScheduleOrientation – 3 DaysFour Module Rotations – 28 daysBreak out sessions 8 daysEnd of 9 weeks, testing bridges, flying

rockets etc. 3 days

Things to Remember

Get to class on time No talking between modules You can talk to your partner quietly while working on

modules Cooperate with your partner, work together, do your

share Attendance is part of your grade, strive to be in

school every day Use your class time wisely, stay on task Remain seated during class, no wandering around

More things to remember

Treat all equipment with respect No swearing or vulgar language In this class you are responsible for your own learning

Module Procedures

Take inventory at the beginning of class Use headphones, be careful with the cords Try to figure out the problems yourself. If you

can’t figure it out, then you ask the teacher Don’t adjust the keyboard trays Clean up at the end of class Follow safety rules when working with tools

Hall, Before School You have until the end of the next

rotation to make up your work If you plan on being gone make up

your work before you leave

TSA TSA stands for the Technology Student

Association TSA is a club that meets after school We do fun technical projects If you do well here you can go to the state

TSA competition in the spring Listen for announcement for when TSA is

starting
