Incredibly, this is the 18th year of the Darlington Chamber Music series – something we are very proud of and something we hope also gives the wonderful people of Darlington a sense of pride. Amidst the uncertainty of 2020 we did manage two successful concerts in the Darlington Hall and a spontaneous pop-up concert on the oval and now we are thrilled to announce the programme for 2021. Semra, Jon and Graeme will connue to form the core of the performance team this year, launching the season in May and literally diving in the deep-end with masterpieces by Strauss and Dvorak. Compelling and achingly beauful, these works will leave you rapt. The string quartet is the focus of the programme in July, ranging from sublime Mozart and Puccini to James Ledger and the world premiere of his new string trio. The August concert will feature Jon and guest cellists as I Cellis. It’s great that they will be back this year, having been a casualty of 2020. The fourth concert will be a week later, on September 5, so mark this in the diary because you will not want to miss this concert!
