The Greek letters, Alpha and Omega, remind us that God is the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End.(Rev. 22:13). The Ichthys or fish symbol is an acronym (ΙΧΘΥΣ) for the name of Christ. The dove reminds us of that the Holy Spirit descended on him (Jesus) in bodily form like a dove.(Luke 3:22). The three overlapping and intertwined circles is a symbol for the Trinity, the Three in One. The Lighting of the Candles symbolizes the Spirits presence in our worship and in our lives. Todays acolytes are Christine Pang and Davis Swann. Worship is planned each week with the following foundational understandings: (1) We gather to celebrate Gods presence in our joys and in our sorrows, through our times of pleasure and through our times of pain. (2) God is the audience of congregational worship. (3) The congregation and worship leaders are participants in this experience, not simply spectators. (4) Worship is a verb; it is something we do, not something done for us.
