The Trends Champagne Lounge is centrally located within Decor + Design. The 2017 design showcases the latest colour trends and is a perfect place to relax, discuss emerging designers, conduct business and nurture creativity. Take the time to recharge with a glass of wine or champagne in this ultimate creative environment.

There is a café located at the rear of the exhibition where you can refuel before charging back in to the fray. The café will be open Thursday and Friday 10:00 – 16:30, Saturday 10:00 – 15:30 and Sunday 10:00 – 14:30. There is also a restaurant located at the rear of the Decor + Design exhibition which will be serving quality food, complimentary dukkha and warm rolls. The restaurant is open Thursday to Saturday 10:30 – 15:00 and Sunday 10:30 – 14:00.

The Decor + Design Social Hub + Recharge Lounge is the perfect spot to relax whilst taking in the latest social media posts from the show. The lounge also includes power boards if your battery is running low (from too many Instagram shots!)

GENERAL INFORMATIONADMISSIONAdmission is free to all bonafide Trade Visitors upon full completion of a visitor registration form. The Organiser reserves the right to refuse admission at their discretion.

BUSINESS FACILITIESThe Business Centre at the Melbourne Exhibition Centre is located in the front foyer and is open during the Trade Show hours. Facilities offered include faxing, photocopying and desktop publishing. Australia Post items, confectionery, stationery, batteries, film, newspapers and magazines are available to purchase.

CATERING Café and restaurant are located at the rear of the Hall. The cafes operate during the hours of the Trade Show serving coffee and light refreshments. There is an AIFF Barista located opposite Door 5 and another coffee cart at the restaurant.

CLOAK ROOMThe Cloakroom is located next to the registration desk at the entrance to the exhibition. It is open during the Trade Show hours. A nominal fee applies – all proceeds go to our Charity Partner:

CHILDRENA Guardian will need to sign a waiver form (at show entrance) for any children entering the exhibition under the age of 12 years old. This waiver states that the Guardian takes full responsibility for any damages/breakages that may be caused by their pram or child/children entering the exhibition. On exit of the exhibition, all prams will be searched by security.

REMOVAL OF PRODUCTSOrders can be placed but items cannot be removed from the show floor. If you do purchase items from the show floor from an exhibitor, you will ONLY be able to remove these items from the Trade Show between 1pm – 3pm Sunday 23rd July 2017. If you are not able to remove your purchased items during this time, then please arrange an alternative with the exhibitor. The MCEC will not allow any trollies on the concourse, you will only be able to carry items.

S4: CRAFTING SOPHISTICATED SPACES

Australian interior designer and author David Hicks launched his eponymous studio in 2000. It has since evolved into the country’s premier brand for luxury-oriented interior and building design.

David’s spaces are streamlined and well-resolved, finished with elegant and sophisticated decorative layering. David is in constant demand both at home and internationally, with numerous awards and frequent features in leading design magazines. Known for his attention to detail and love of craftsmanship, David Hicks himself provides creative direction on every single one of the studio’s manifold projects. In November 2016, David launched is first book Intimate, A Private World of Interiors. It’s a personal look at Hicks’ world of interiors – from architectural planning and interior detailing to the curation of objects and art sourced from the world over.

In this special opportunity to see David speak in his home of Melbourne, David will discuss his holistic, high-end design philosophy and guide the audience through the process behind recent standout projects, including how to integrate elements of vintage, contemporary and antique in modern spaces to create designs with longevity.

An Englishman in Los Angeles, Tim Street-Porter is one of the world’s most renowned architectural photographers. With an unmatched eye for interiors, he has taken us into the inner sanctums of some of Hollywood’s most private individuals and revealed the whimsical beauty of their homes.

His editorial work has been described variously by the LA Times as ‘a bath of gorgeousness’ and by Vanity Fair as ‘epic and lush.’ Having studied architecture in London before becoming a photographer, Tim has won numerous awards, published six books and been Principal Photographer on collaborations with the world’s leading interior designers. His client list included Benedict Taschen, the Standard and Chateau Marmont Hotels, David Rockwell, World of Interiors, Architectural Digest, Elle Décor, Belle and countless others.

Anna Spiro’s distinguished style has propelled her onto the world stage with her interior design of the much-talked about boutique hotel Halcyon House. With an innate ability to mix interestingly patterned fabrics, antique furniture and art, Anna has created beautiful homes and spaces across Australia.

Shilo Englebrecht is a textile designer and artist who was awarded the ‘Mercedes Benz Start Up’ prize for her graduate collection and ‘Emerging Designer of the Year’ by the Design Institute of Australia. Since then she has won plaudits for her work at the Powerhouse Museum, G’Day LA and Craft Victoria.

This seminar is essential for interior and textile designers, decorators and stylists.

Adelaide Bragg & Associates have become synonymous with classically beautiful interiors with an unmistakably Australian aesthetic. Originally from Sydney, Adelaide moved the business to Melbourne in 2003 and it is firmly established as a go-to for bespoke, end-to-end interiors across Australia. From the Royal Sydney Golf Club to extraordinary private projects across the country, Adelaide has brought interiors to life with her magical touch.

She has over 15 years’ experience in renovating and building and now specialises in helping people design and build their ‘Forever Home’. Having lived in Europe (Amsterdam and London) for 12 years, Frances has developed her own unique style and influences.

Having built and renovated herself many times over, and built her own ‘Forever Home’ in 2014, she understands her client’s requirements first hand, and guides them through the process. Her own home is an award winning sustainable home that has featured in House & Garden, The Herald Sun and been profiled internationally on Houzz.

She is also the author of ‘Your Forever Home’ – a practical guide for those about to embark on building or renovating to create their ‘Forever Home’. Copies of the book will be available at the event and Frances will be signing copies afterwards.
