AD HOC COMMITTEE FORMED TO INVESTIGATE NEW A/C UNITS FOR ST. AEDAN CHURCH As most parishioners have recognized our air condition-ing system at St. Aedan Church died at the beginning of July (one of the hottest months in Summer!). Efforts by 3 air conditioning companies—and expenditures of over $4,000, proved futile in repairing the 20 year old system. The committee will investigate options for our future. The possible replacement cost could total $50,000 to $60,000. More updates will be posted in the bulletin.

100TH ANNIVERSARY MEMORIAL CONCERT NOVEMBER 24TH, ST. BRENDAN CHURCH Our parish choirs and members of choirs through-out New Haven will celebrate the 100th Anniversary of St. Brendan Church and perform a special tribute for President John F. Phase II of St. Aedan Hall Renovation After review by the St. Aedan Finance Council and Buildings Committee, Archbishop Mansell has given per-mission to hire Christopher O’Connor, Inc. as general contractor to renovate the church hall. All plans have been drafted and prepared for specifica-tions. The city of New Haven has issued the building permit and approval from the Fire Marshall’s office has been received. The project is slated to begin the first week in September and should take about 4-8 weeks for completion. Thank you for your generous financial support in our Fundraiser of last October, we could not have accom-plished this without our loyal parishioners. During the construction we may need to adapt “Sunday Coffee and” accordingly. We thank you in advance for your under-standing.

ST. BRENDAN REPAIR OF FURNACES HAVE BEGUN Although, thanks to the generous response of St. Bren-dan parishioners of over $16,000 to replace the boiler with economical gas boilers, the estimated cost would be three times that amount. Therefore working with Tracy Energy Company we have two options. The first option has begun with ad-justments to the existing equipment on the boilers which has provided an estimated 86% efficiency rating. They also promise more regular attention to mainte-nance. If that does not produce the needed results the second option would be to replace both burners on the existing boilers with new burners. That would be paid for by the money raised ($16,000) in last October’s an-nual appeal. Until that time all the funds raised will be held in reserve for the future of the church boilers.
