On the back of every Assignment sheet, there
is a list of words that follow the rules for the
week. Ten of them will be on the spelling test.
We are trying a variety of tests to meet the needs of the many different learners in our classrooms. We also hope that it will help us see if the
students truly do know how to spell in their writing.
Homework Routine
o Reading: Read Aloud 20 Minutes and Write a Response -Monday and Wednesday: Graphic Organizer -Tuesday and Thursday: Written Response *Please initial next to their responses to verify that your child has read
o Math: Tuesday Night; after Winter Break it’ll be on Thursday as well
o Spelling: Log onto SpellingCity.com and practice words throughout the week; must log on twice a week by Friday

o Homework should only be done in pencil
Performance Standards

It is important to note that for each indicator on the report card, it is the level 3 that is the goal and indicates “end of year” mastery of that concept or skill.

How Do I Get Home?
o Please be sure to call or email in any changes in the way your child is getting home to the front office by 1:00 PM. 533-6250; [email protected]
o I’m not at my computer during the day-I’m always on the go around the room working with your children. Contacting the front office about a transportation change will help greatly with making sure your child gets to the right place safely.
