The mission of Hancock International College is to provide a comprehensive educational program in English as a Second Language for international students who represent many different linguistic and cultural backgrounds. The foundations of our program are instruction in grammar, reading, writing, listening, and speaking. We also provide international students exposure to American culture and history.

Intensive English as a Second Language (IESL) This is a series of Intensive English courses for students that want to improve their
English academically or professionally. These courses help students develop grammatical accuracy, reading comprehension, listening, speaking and writing that will cultivate English language proficiency needed to succeed and thrive.
Focus Courses Focus Courses are a series of classes for students who are eager to improve their use
of English for specific purposes. These courses offer understanding to American culture and society to academic English skills.

This is a series of Intensive English courses for students that want to improve their English academically or professionally. These courses help students develop grammatical accuracy, reading comprehension, listening, speaking and writing that will cultivate English language proficiency needed to succeed and thrive.
Summer and Winter Camps
Hancock International College (HIC) provides a unique experience for students to discover a multicultural country. The students of HIC interact with a wide variety of international students and become lifelong friends. Through the Summer and Winter Camps students will achieve their language goals and get one step closer to being accepted into a wide variety of universities.

HIC also prides itself on the quarterly cultural field trip where all students can participate in cultural activities. Cultural field trips vary depending on the season.

• The College operates on a quarter basis. The normal IESL Course consists of 10 weeks per quarter.
The HIC Pathway Program offers you the chance to enter a U.S. college or university upon completion of your English course at HIC. There is no minimum level of English proficiency required to enter this program. However, you must successfully complete the upper-intermediate level of English proficiency at HIC before you start classes at the college or university.
HIC’s Intensive English as a Second Language (IESL) and Intensive Business English (IBE) Program provide English for Academic Purposes through reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills to succeed in a college or university in the United States.
After you apply the college or university will determine whether you qualify for admission. If you meet the requirements for admission but do not have the required level of English, they will give you a Conditional Admission. This means you will be able to start classes after you have successfully completed the HIC course.

Academic Counseling Student Housing Student Health Care
HIC offers a range of supervisory and consultative services for ESL students, including financial assistance, academic counseling, language learning assistance, housing and recreational referrals. The HIC Staff is available to assist all students during regular business hours.
Academic counseling is considered a fundamental educational tool of Hancock International College. Through counseling, students are able to improve their educational experience. Academic advice and counseling by the Director of Academics as well as the Director of Admissions and Student Services will be available on the school premises to all students.
HIC has partnered with homestay companies to offer different options depending on individual needs and type of experience. All ensure a clean, safe, and fully furnished living environment.
