Star Media and Marketing Ltd brings you the Asian Beauty Pageant UK- one of the largest, impartial and most influential beauty pageants in the UK. Since its inception, the team has been dedicated to promoting Asian cultural heritage, international cultural awareness and community pride. The event will provide

a platform where outstanding young individuals male and female will have the opportunity to display their artistic skills, intelligence, confidence, cultural pride

and leadership in order to further advance themselves in society, as well as raising their profile’s and work alongside those less fortunate. Asian Beauty Pageant UK will also help in community cohesion, through its cultural exchange between the

UK and relevant south Asian countries.

The competition which was borne in July 2015 set out to find contestants across the UK, who will perform at today’s grand finale, the show promises to be a high

-profile event celebrity judges, artists and VIP’s attending to witness the crowning of the winners.

The Asian Beauty Pageant UK sets itself apart from others through an evening of glamour and entertainment. Guests will see an amazing catwalk with the final

regional contestants showcasing their talent; bringing out each finalists individual personality whilst modelling breath- taking designs by some of the world’s

innovative designers.

This evening the show will be hosted by Radio presenters and the most listened to couple in the country Sunny and Shay.

Sunny and Shay have also previously appeared on Channel 4’s BAFTA nominated The Family and have also presented the weekend breakfast

showon BBC Asian Network from BBC Birmingham, as well as various TV shows.

They are on radio 7 days a week with a daily show on BBC WM every Monday to Thursday from 2pm and weekends from Friday nights on BBC

ABHAY KUMARCEO OF BOMBAY TALKIES

Bombay Talkies, the film studio in Malad that gave a break to several top stars of Bollywood including Madhubala, Ashok Kumar, Devika Rani, Raj Kapoor, Leela Chitnis, Dilip Kumar and Mehmood to name a few will launch in the UK this year. 2016 will see Abhay Kumar grandson of of Rajnarayan Dube founder of Bombay Talkies launch Gandhi v/s Aazaad. This historical drama features Abhay in titular role of nationalist Chandra Shekhar Azad with several newcomers as other freedom fighters.

Mandy Takhar

Mandy Takhar is a British Punjabi Indian actress, who predominantly appears in Punjabi films.Mandy moved to Mumbai and landed the role opposite renowned Punjabi singer Babbu Mann in the 2010 in film, Ekam - Son of Soil, and her work was highly appreciated. As a result, she was offered the lead role opposite the superstar Gippy Grewal in the highest budgeted film of Punjabi cinema, Mirza - The Untold Story. She played Sahiba in this modern adaptation of the ethic love story of Mirza-Sahiba. Her portrayal of Sahiba got her nominated for the best actress at the PTC Punjabi Film Awards. After Mirza Mandy is known as one of the top most loved actresses of Punjabi cinema.In 2013, she starred in Tu Mera 22 Main Tera 22 a comedy alongside Amrinder Gill and Honey Singh. She played the role of a teacher and won hearts again and got the award for most prominent & popular face and youth Icon of 2012-2013 at the 6th Punjabi Film and Music Festival.She made her debut in Tamil cinema with Venkat Prabhu’s Biriyani starring Karthi. Her role in the film “Sardaar Ji” took her to the new heights of success and fame.[citation needed] She won the award for best supporting actor at PTC Punjabi Film Awards however she did not attend the awards, according to the sources it could be because it was quite evident that she deserved to be nominated in the Best Actress category. Sardaar ji was a record breaker in the history of Punjabi cinema. it opened to 100% occupancies and shattered previous openings and was the first Punjabi film to cross the 50cr worldwide mark.Mandy is known to be involved in humanitarian acts and in 2016 she shocked the industry and her fans by personally visiting refugee camps close to the Iraq and Syria border, in association with her supported UK based charity Khalsa Aid to help the refugees in crisis.

Jasmin Walia

Jasmin Walia an English television personality, singer and actress of Indian origin, was a cast member on the ITV2 semi-reality programme The Only Way Is Essex, starting out as an extra in 2010 before being upgraded to recurring cast in 2012. Jasmin later joined the cast of another reality series Desi Rascals. As an actress, she has appeared in Doctors, Casualty and The Bill. In June 2014, Jasmin and her brother Danny auditioned for the eleventh series of The X Factor. She will be seen in the Indian dance reality show Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa (season 9) which will go on air in June 2016

Reda Johnson

Réda Johnson is a footballer who currently plays for Coventry City. He previously played for Sheffield Wednesday, Gueugnon, Amiens and Plymouth Argyle. He has been capped by Benin at international level.Réda Johnson began his career as a professional footballer in 2005 with Gueugnon. He made his debut on 24 August 2007 and went on to make a further eleven appearances in all competitions during the 2007–08 season. He won earned many plaudits for his performance. He scored his first senior goal in September 2010 against Colchester United, while captaining the team in the absence of Carl Fletcher.

Kashif Saddiqi

Since making a debut on the international circuit and playing in the 2008 Beijing Olympic Qualifiers, Kashif Siddiqi has become known to many as a South Asian Football Globetrotter. He is one of a handful of British South Asians to have made it in the professional ranks in the UK and to date he remains 1 of only 11 South Asian players to have ever played professional football in the United Kingdom – Giving Kash a very strong USP- which he has used to give back and his journey in sport has become one of many travelled routes and philanthropic accomplishments.His achievements both on and off the pitch to date are all credited to his mother and faith in god. In 2011 has set-up the Kashif Siddiqi Foundation (KSF) and has also Co-Founded the Football For Peace movement alongside the United Nations and FIFA’s 100 greatest players of all time – Elias Figueroa. Kash has become renowned for his humanitarian efforts and has been recognised for his goodwill work by HRH Duke of Cambridge – Prince William, Prime Minister David Cameron, His Highness Prince Ali of Jordan, Pope Francis and the United Nations. In 2013, he was inaugurated as a Champion of Peace, under the High Patronage of His Highness Prince Albert II for his global charitable ventures

Maria Gardner Is a full time International model. Nadim Started of as Bollywood Dancer in 1999 and has performed all over UK as Solo Bollywood Dancer.

From Bollywood Dancer to a Runway Model all over UK. After 8 years of Dancing and Runway Modelling Nadim has decided to create his own work as a Runway Fashion

Scotland’s multi-talented singer, actress and dancer RAMEET launches the girl’s anthem for the summer… KURIYA!

Hailing from Glasgow, Scotland, a young and fiery triple threat singer, actress and dancer, Rameet is set to launch her brand new summer single, a huge slice of catchy bubble gum

pop infused Bhangra… the girl’s anthem ’Kuriya’. The multi-talented Rameet is set to stamp her mark with ‘Kuriya’, an up tempo, fun blend of Punjabi and English vocals laced on a bass heavy urban beat creating a unique Bhangra pop sound. ‘Kuriya’ is produced by the award

winning Mumzy Stranger’s production outfit, Stranger Productions. On her debut solo single, Rameet says: “I can’t believe it’s finally here! I’ve been so excited to release ‘Kuriya’; it’s a fun dance song for the girls and something which everyone can enjoy this summer. It’s my first official solo release so after a lot of work getting everything set, I’m

ready to unleash it to the world!”

A former winner of the ‘Miss India Scotland’ title in her teens, Rameet is no stranger to the limelight from a young age, participating over the years in the local Glasgow talent show

circuit. She released her debut album titled ‘Dil Milde’ at the tender age of 11, produced by renowned Indian music director Atul Sharna. The entire album featured traditional Punjabi

folk songs by Rameet and her brother, Lord Munmeet. Having been classically trained in the art of ‘Shabad’ (Sikh religious hymns) at her local gurdwara, Rameet excelled in her vocal training, learning ‘Ragas’ and ‘Sargams’ very early in her musical education, in the UK and

in India. Having won the ‘Miss India Scotland’ beauty pageant in 2012, she also performed a traditional South Asian dance at the worldwide contest in Surinam.

A professional singer, dancer and having recently graduated with a degree in Acting and Performance, Rameet’s talent is limitless. As an actress she has starred in the BBC TV

series ‘Half Moon Investigations’ as well as several short films and documentaries, the experience has given her the building blocks to a pathway into feature films in the future.

Her award winning Bhangra dance group has been recognised by some of Scotland’s highest politicians and has performed at BBC Children In Need, the MOBO Awards press

conference, Glasgow’s SECC amongst other high profile events and venues. A highly motivated individual she also uses her Bollywood and Bhangra dance training to great use

for her local community, having taught dance classes for years.

As part of the ‘Stranger Family’ in 2012/13, Rameet released her single ‘Peengh’ to great success in the Asian music charts, as well as featured on the massive summer single ‘Ghetto’

alongside Mumzy Stranger, Junai Kaden, Tasha Tah and Char Avell.

Her debut solo single ‘Kuriya’ was one of the stand-out party tracks of summer 2014, paving the way for this young and talented future star to make her mark in the UK and beyond.

SHEEBA KHAN

Sheeba Khan is a UK based Pakistani artist. Her first major release last year, “Pagal Jiya” had received excellent feedback from both the industry as well as the public. Sheeba’s beautiful,

sultry voice is being compared to the Pakistani pop legend Nazia Hassan that is no mean achievement by anybody’s standards. Singing was always her passion and her biggest

inspiration in music is the legendary Lata Mangeshkar. Sheeba is not just incredibly gifted but also beautiful with a strong personaility and her talent shines out in her music and

performances.

NS CHAUHAN

NS CHAUHAN is a brand name in Bhangra & Bollywood industry with magnetic voice that is rocking the world with his Hit Songs. He is the man behind one of the most distinctive

voices and musical styles to emanate from the United Kingdom in recent times. In a career that has spanned almost a decade to date, chauhan’s unique ability to combine traditional Punjabi lyrics and heart-pounding beats with his distinct and instantly recognizable vocal

style, has endeared him to Bhangra music lovers worldwide.

He started singing in his early age at 10. NS Chauhan originally joined the RDB camp as writers and singer. Overtime NS Chauhan worked endless hours on his musical career by learning to play different types of Indian instruments such as the Dhol, Dholki, and Keyboards etc. This then lead him to record percussion’s, music pieces on home-made

mixes. From this NS Chauhan joined RDBs music production school where Kuly Ral helped him develop his musical talent and production skills to a high level .Ns Chauhan is talented in playing Tabla, dholki, dhol and raag music. He is also been learning music from his dad who is a gurbani (Sikhism) music teacher. Chauhan has already released 1 solo album and 1 religious album. He has worked on countless collaboration with worlds renowned artists and made many hits with artists like Shahrukh Khan, Akshay Kumar, Kangna Ranawat, Saif

Ali Khan & International artist like T-Pain to name few.

NS chauhan also delivered the best song of 2015 in Bollywood category the fame of Mari Gali fame of TANU WEDS MANU & SHARABI fame of HAPPY NEW YEAR.

Jabber MirJabber started his career as an Aerospace Engineer after finishing his Engineering degree from Nottingham University, but he has over the last 20 years, following an MBA from Henley Management College, become a bit of a serial business entrepreneur. He has an excellent track record of investing in and managing successfully, a variety of businesses and development, and is a committed believer in investment in, and empowerment of, appropriately skilled people and resources to improve business environments, processes and efficiencies.

Jayraj JadejaJayraj Jadeja is a professional tennis player who has grown into the role of heading Football for Peace.Initially acting as an ambassador for the charity, Jayraj’s passion and belief in founder Kashif Siddiqi’s vision to use sport as a tool for diplomacy has found himself heading FfP Global. CEO of Football for Peace Global Jayraj has led the charity through developing its FfP Process that contributes delivering a global Peace Match uniting Great Britain and Afghanistan under the patronage of HRH Prince Ali Bin Hussein of Jordan, developed a FfP Global educational syllabus that has been delivered globally impacting over a 3000 children with support from HRH Prince William. With the FfP Global process developed Football for Peace Global recently launched a legacy project in Kerala, India highlighting Women’s Empowerment through the FfP Global educational workshops. Jayraj felt it was important to inspire the young generation of India and took over Football for Peace Ambassador and Football legend Ronaldinho to Kerala to highlight the importance of the work FfP Global are delivering. With Jayraj’s professional sporting background he understands the power that sport plays in today’s world. Using sport as a vehicle to help humanity in today’s climate is something Jayraj is committed to and FfP Global has given him the opportunity to do so.

Balvir Kaur SagooBalvir has always had a passion for making a difference to the lives of children and people around her, with the hope of inspiring them to become role models for our future generations. For Balvir, by giving from the heart, and most importantly by giving love, sharing happiness and remaining humble, this can be achieved. Balvir believes that we should encourage people to believe in themselves, have big dreams and work towards them in order to become the best they can be.

REGIONAL HEAD JUDGES

Upinder RandhawaUpinder Randhawa is a film maker and media figure who commenced his career working for a number of Asian Community Radio Stations. His media career came into further prominence when working as a Presenter for UK lifestyle channel Sangat TV. He was seen to be covering live footage of the 2011 England Riots within the West Midlands. Upinder’s participation was commended by PM David Cameron in the House of Commons for its commitment to social responsibility. He was also featured in 10 Heroes of the London Riots in New York’s Time Magazine. Upinder was voted in at number 41 for DesiClub.com’s Top 50 Coolest Desis of 2011.

Upinder made his acting debut in the Punjabi film Mirza - The Untold Story, playing a character role, before propelling himself further and becoming a film producer. Kirdaar, his first film production, is what he refers to as his film school, through which he learnt and applied the necessary expertise to complete an astonishing production. As well as this, Upinder carries out compelling interviews for Punjab2000 with prominent figures within the Asian media industry. He has now commenced working with Prime Asia TV in Canada, a greatly anticipated channel that is due to provide worldwide coverage of key interviews and issues.
