• SAT-I Writing Score: 680
• AP Scores: Calc BC (waiting on July 1 for grade), Calc AB 5
(from junior year), Biology 4, French Language 5

sections of Writing the Essay, being aware that some sections have
restrictions as outlined in the class notes.
SAMPLE SCHEDULE – “VIOLET” • While waiting on his/her BC score to
arrive, Violet will enroll in a section of
Calculus I.
• If Violet receives a 4 or 5 on BC
calculus, she may apply the BC credit
to fulfill Stern’s Calc I requirement or
may take a higher level math class
(Calc II or higher – her AB score
actually qualifies her).
• Stern faculty strongly encourage
students to take a college-level math
course at NYU, particularly those who
plan to pursue a quantitative
discipline
SAMPLE SCHEDULE – “VIOLET”
• Stern Economics (ECON-UB) houses ECON-UB 1 Microeconomics. Like many of your fall
courses, Microeconomics will have an associated recitation (RCT) that you must register for
when registering for the lecture.
• With an AP BC score of 4 or 5, this student is able to apply credit to fulfill Stern’s
Calculus I requirement, but the student may still opt to enroll in a fall math course. Even if
she decides she will apply credit, she must still register for 16–18 units of actual
courses for the fall.
• An AP AB or BC score of 4 or 5 qualifies this student to register for Microeconomics in
their first semester. Students with an AB score will likely take Calculus I or higher
concurrently in the fall semester.
SAMPLE SCHEDULE – “VIOLET”
• Global Cultures courses, taught in Liberal
Studies, can also fulfill the Cultures & Contexts
requirement
• Make sure that the section you choose to
add to your shopping cart is one that Stern
students are eligible for – read the class
notes!

FREQUENTLY ASKED FAQ (1 OF 6)
• What is the Cohort Leadership Project and how did it end up
on my Fall 2013 schedule already (your future self asking on
June 6th)?
• Answer: The Cohort Leadership Project, or CLP, is a
mandatory fall course for Stern freshmen that meets Friday
afternoons. More information on the course can be found
on our site.
FREQUENTLY ASKED FAQ (2 OF 6)
• When will my senior-year AP scores be in the system?
• Answer: The College Board traditionally releases the
scores on/around July 1st. If you have marked NYU as a
recipient of your scores, admissions should receive them in
the first week of July, and they should be in your Albert
record soon after that.
FREQUENTLY ASKED FAQ (3 OF 6)
• I know I did well; can’t I register for Microeconomics without
my AP scores being in the system yet?
• Answer: NO! We hope you knocked it out of the park, but
NYU must have official scores in the system in order for you
to register for courses that requires an AP/exam score as
prerequisite.
FREQUENTLY ASKED FAQ (4 OF 6)
• I don’t have a qualifying SAT, ACT, SAT-II or exam score to
register for Calculus I, but I’ve taken pre-Calc. How do I test
into Calculus I or higher?
• Answer: The Math department will offer Calc I placement
exams on June 14th, 21st and during August Orientation.
More information on RSVPing for the June exams can be
found here.
FREQUENTLY ASKED FAQ (5 OF 6)
• I received a 4 or 5 on AP Stats. How do I test out of the 4-
credit Stats class?
• Answer: The Stats proficiency exam will be offered during
August orientation. If you already have a score or expect to
receive a 4 or 5, we’ll release a study guide for the exam
in early August.
FREQUENTLY ASKED FAQ (6 OF 6) • What happens if I want to change my schedule after registration?
•Answer: Technically, you have access to Albert and the ability to change your schedule from June 6th at 10am through the first week of classes. That being said, WE DISCOURAGE DROPPING
• Writing the Essay,
• Texts & Ideas,
• Cultures & Contexts, or
• Natural Science I/II
courses after June 6th. If you do intend to make changes, please use the “Swap” function to avoid dropping a course, attempting to enroll in a new course only to find out you’re ineligible, and ultimately losing your original seat.
