Overview

Mission:

LTSD school counseling department provides a comprehensive and developmental school counseling program that addresses academic, career and personal/social needs of each student. In partnership with our schools, families and community, the school counselors support and inspire students to reach their fullest potential

K-12 Components:

• Individual/Group Counseling• Classroom –based Guidance Lessons• Crisis Intervention• Academic Planning & Advisement• High Stakes Testing • Student File Management• Consultation/Collaboration with Parents, Staff,

Community & Business Partners• Postsecondary & Career Counseling Services

Ways we connect with kids:

Elementary:• 30 –minute Guidance Lessons - 2x’s times per

month – every classroom (Bullying, Learning Styles, Career Awareness, PSSA Prep, D&A Prevention, Conflict Resolution)

• Lunch Bunches – 3 sessions per day per counselor• Lancer Code Training – 2x’s per year – all 700 kids• Small Group Conflict Resolution • Daily Individualized Counseling Sessions • Orientation/Transition Programming (K, New, 5/6)• Career Expo – (Grades 2-5)• Parent Communication
