We have had a great start to the school year. Whether your children are coming to school, or learning online, we are happy to be back in the educational setting this fall and look forward to the rest of the year.

Parents, please continue to complete a symptom and health assessment check prior to your child leaving the house every morning. If any students have a 100-degree fever or higher, or any symptoms of COVID-19, they must stay home and seek guidance from their primary health care provider.

Students across the District have done an exceptional job following all of the health and safety protocols on our school busses and in the school buildings throughout the first month of the school year. We appreciate everyone’s cooperation as it is vitally important so we can continue with in-person learning.

COVID-19 Reporting

For all families within the Remote Learning Academy, the full-time remote learning program being offered for the 2020-2021 school year due to the global pandemic, we have added a section to our website exclusively for you. Students and parents of remote learners can find helpful information such as staff and administrator contact information, how to report a tech issue, information on meal services, attendance policies and more.

Per Governor Mike DeWine’s order, effective September 8, 2020, students and staff members who have been diagnosed with COVID-19 are encouraged to notify their school no later than 24 hours after receiving a confirmed diagnosis. Once the school building is informed of a COVID-19 diagnosis, the school building is required to: a) report the diagnosis to the Lake County General Health District and b) notify parents of the affected school building within 24 hours.

Effective September 15, 2020, the Lake County General Health District will report the number of positive COVID-19 cases to the Ohio Department of Health, who are publishing data from each school district in the state on a weekly basis on coronavirus.ohio.gov.

All students, whether remote, or in-person, at all buildings, will have breakfast and lunch provided to them at no cost through December 31, 2020. This is an initiative from the U.S. Department of Agriculture to ensure that all children have access to nutritious food as the country recovers from the global pandemic.If remote learners are interested in meal services, parents must fill out a Google form on the RLA website to reserve meals. Meals for remote learners will be distributed on Fridays between 12:30 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. at Buckeye and Riverview elementary schools and LaMuth Middle School.
