WELCOME .......The international arthroplasty conference (IAC) started in 2008 with 2 invited speakers from Cleveland Clinic Foundation (CCF); Joseph Iannotti, the Chairman of Orthopaedic Dept and Wael Barsoum, the Vice Chairman. It was a success from the first time, calling for continuation and progression. This collaborative work resulted in a written agreement with CCF to support our Orthopaedic Dept in both research and education. CCF over the years provided us with quality speakers with complete sponsorship of their travel expenses. IAC has had several hurdles after 2011 following the uprising in Egypt and then the tourism crisis in Sharm El Sheikh. As a result, we missed CCF speakers. Also, we had to move IAC from Sharm to Cairo. Today, CCF is back again with 5 distinguished faculty. In this conference, we have 8 other guest speakers from Europe, Asia and Australia. With more than 20 experienced speakers from Egypt, we expect a highly educational event and a platform for exchange of experiences. IAC is reaching its 13-anniverary, indicating a regularity, practicality and consistency. It became an entity that has its roots in Egypt, but its reach is international. IAC has been a meeting place for Experts in arthroplasty and computer assisted surgery. The features of this year event are listed below. We started collaborative work with Universities in Egypt. The first was with Suez Canal University and this year, the IAC is done in association with Beni Suef University and Prof Atef Morsy, the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine is the Honorary President of this conference. We hope that you enjoy the conference, and look forward to receiving your feedback, and seeing you at future events
