WHY SCHEDULED FULL CLOSURES ARE REQUIRED

• Blasting closures to remove 50,000 cubic metres of rock

• Based on 250 cubic metres per blast, 200 blasts will be required

• The minimum period for a closure is 50 minutes (Close, blast, check, clear the road)

• The closures are planned around school bus and commuter schedules

• Two hours will allow the contractor time to reliably clear and reopen the road as scheduled

• Keeping the schedule allows all to plan their day
