Mobility Student = Exchange or Visiting Students

• CH-Unimobil-Students (Swiss Mobility)

• SEMP- (ERASMUS-) Students

• Exchange Students under a faculty or a university wide

Individual study plan

• You may put together your study plan any way you see fit

• There are no regulations defined by the RWF UZH:

– No minimum number of ECTS credits

– No module requirements

– Exception: Only 1 seminar per semester

• You are responsible for arranging a course and examination schedule that is collisionfree!

another faculty than the RWF UZH, you have to get

in touch with the faculty in question directly. The

Mobility Office cannot book modules from other

faculties for you.

Types of Examinations

• There are two types of examinations:

1. Regular examinations (written, oral, presentations)

2. Mobility examinations (written, oral, presentations)

• Mobility examinations are special examinations for exchange students only. Lecturers are not obliged

to offer mobility examinations and can limit the offer to non-native speakers or only if a good reason

exists

Good reason = internship, collision with semester dates at home university

• Other restrictions are possible

• Where no mobility examination is offered for a module, you will have to sit the regular module

examinations

• You may retake a mobility examination once. The examiner is not obligated to offer a re-examination

• Mobility exams cannot be accredited to a degree at the UZH

Examination registration – general information

• Module booking = examination registration

• You have to book a module in the same semester in which you want to

take the examination

• Do not register by using the official online booking tool of the University

of Zurich. You will not get credit points for modules you have booked by

yourself. This does not apply to Visiting Students

• If a mobility examination is offered for a module: You can either register

for the mobility examination or the regular examination in the same

module – not both

Modules/Submodules

• Some Bachelor modules are two-semester courses and divided into several submodules

• Exchange students may have the possibilty to take examinations for submodules only, instead of the

whole module

• Example: Rechtsphilosophie & Rechtstheorie

Rechtstheorie – lecture in fall semester 2016

Rechtsphilosophie – lecture in spring semester 2017

Rechtsphilosophie & Recht und Religion – regular examination in spring semester 2017

Exchange Students can register for a mobility examination in Rechtsphilosophie in spring semester

2017

Exchange Students who are enrolled at RWF UZH in fall semester 2016 and in spring semester 2017

can register for a regular examination in „Recht und Religion & Rechtstheorie“ (the whole module) in

spring semester 2017

• To register for examinations, your must use the online module booking tool of the Mobility

• Please read the instructions regarding examination registration in your folder or online:

• Only book modules in which you want to take an examination

• You can participate in courses without taking examinations - then you do not have to register.

VERY IMPORTANT: to conclude your registration at the Faculty of Law, you must submit the Registration

Annulment of Mobility Examinations

• In case of illness or other compelling, unforeseeable reasons

• Firstly inform the chair and the Mobility Office

• Form in folder or on our website:

• Fill in the form, sign it and submit it no later than 5 days after the missed

examination at the Service Desk of the Dean’s Office or send it per mail

• Add a medical certificate or other supporting documents. All documents must

be originals

• The medical certificate should be translated into German or English

Withdrawel from Regular Examinations

• The withdrawel of an oral or written regular exam is possible only for compelling, unpredictable and

unavoidable circumstances

• Immediately after the occurrence of such a compelling reason - but at the latest within five working days -

a written withdrawel request with supporting evidence must be lodged with the legal department of the

deanery of the Faculty of Law. Late withdrawel requests will not be accepted

• The candidate of an oral exam must also withdraw from the exam at the respective chair

• Doctor's certificates must be issued by a doctor authorized to practice medicine in Switzerland or in the

country in which the candidate has fallen ill

• In the case of compulsory modules and core elective modules at secondary level, alternative examinations

are held after the regular examinations. The alternative examinations may be oral or written

Examination Periods

• Mobility Examinations take place in the last two weeks of the lecture period (12.12. –

23.12.2016)

There may be exceptions to this!

• The examination schedule for mobility examinations will be sent to you by email four weeks

before mobility examinations start by the Examination Office

• Regular Examinations take place in January, after the lecture period (03.01.2017 – 30.01.2017)

• You will have to inform yourself about date, time and place of the regular examinations. Please

find them on our website (Brochure p. 19):

• It is possible to have more than one exam on the same day!

• Grades of the mobility exams will be available online at the latest:
