Study of the mathematical foundations for computer engineering. The course willcover selected topics from probability and queuing theory, approximation andnumerical methods, and optimization. Includes discussion of applicationsin such areas as databases, human-machine interface, robotics, networks,security and vision.

Prerequisites: 3340 and 3442

This course starts with a study of the state of the art hardware and softwaretools for designing mobile systems. The course will culminate in thedesign and development of mobile systems for application problems.Course Description: Mobile Devices including handheld computers, sensor nodesand smart phones, operating systems, middleware and communication in mobileenvironments. Applications of mobile systems in health, entertainment, securityand other areas.
