• The West sees excessive heat: Regions from the California valleys to the Rockieswill bemuchwarmer than last year and normal, with temperatures exceeding 100°F. Locations across theNorthwestwillseetemperaturesrisingthroughthe90sduringtheweek.

• EastCoaststayshot:RegionsacrosstheMid-AtlanticandSoutheastwillcontinuetoswelter,withtemperatureshoveringbetween95°Fand105°F.

• ThePlainswillseerelieffromtheheat:ThePlainswillseemoreseasonaltemperaturescomparedwiththeblisteringheatofthepastweek.TheSouthernPlainsandDeepSouthwillcontinuetoseewarmtemperatures,butcanexpectaslightcoolingtrendthroughouttheweek,withtemperaturescoolerthanlastyearandnormaloverall.

• Storms in the Plains and the South: Showers and stormswillmove from the Plains to the Eastduring the second half of theweek. TheOhio Valleywill see the heaviest storms. Coastal Texas,LouisianaandMississippiwillseeveryheavyraincausedbytropicalmoisturethroughoutmuchoftheweek.

• Last year this week, the US trended warmer than normal: Temperatures were warmer thannormal,withheatfocusedacrosstheSouthernTierofthecountry.

• Hot for most regions except the Pacific Northwest: Most regions in the US will see averagetemperatures that are higher than last year. Eastern locationswill start theweek seasonable tocool,thenbecomehotagainmidweek.MostWesternregionswillbewarmerthannormalandlastyear.ThePacificNorthwestwillseeareturntocoolertemperatures.

• TheSouthwillbecooler:TheSouthernTierwillexperienceareprievefromtheheatseeninJuly,with temperatures slightly below last year andnormal. The Southeastwill see tropical rains andcoolerweather. TheCentral Plainswill start and end theweek slightly cooler than last year andnormal.

• Monsoonshowersexpected:MonsoonalshowerswilldevelopacrosstheSouthwestandmoveoutintothePlainsformuchoftheweek.
