John and Kathy Westberg in memory of their fathers, Louis Pascarella and Granger Westberg. Please Note: There will be no services on Saturday, July 2 at 5:00 p.m. or Sunday, July 3 at 6:00 p.m. Celebrate “One Nation Under God” July 2 & 3 Worship Services Join us to celebrate the blessings God has bestowed upon our nation with a powerful message from Rev. Dr. Dan Meyer. In the Sanctuary, inspirational patriotic music such as Battle Hymn of the Republic and America The Beautiful will be led by our 100-voice Chancel Choir and the Christ Church Brass Choir. Get the Chance to Sing in the Choir This Summer Did you sing in high school or college choir, but do not have time to be part of our regular Chancel Choir? Do you like to sing and always wondered what it was like to sing in a choir? Come and try us out! All singers (age 14 and up) are welcome to join us for special short-term choir opportunities in the 9:00 and 10:45 a.m. Classic Worship services. Sunday, July 31 – Men and Women (one rehearsal Thursday, July 28, 7:00- 8:00 p.m.) Sunday, August 28 – Women Only (one rehearsal Thursday, August 25, 7:00- 8:00 p.m.) No audition required, but registration is requested. There is no final test to pass and each attendee is awarded a certificate to qualify for auto insurance discounts. $20 per person (AARP members $15.00). Participants are required to attend both days. June 23 • Coee and Conversation (no lunch) India: History, Diversity, and Christianity in India Learn about the fascinating history of exotic India, its diverse population, and the growth of Christianity in a predominately Hindu country from Dr. Sunny Andrews, Professor Emeritus, Univ. of Nebraska. India was divided into 17 dierent linguistic states, has many political parties, and literacy levels have risen due to Christianity’s major role in education. June 30 – August 3 • Luncheon Bunyan’s Second Thoughts Join us for a six-week series featuring Dr. Rolland Hein, Emeritus Professor of English, Wheaton College, where we will discuss John Bunyan’s Pilgrim’s Progress: Part 11. Bunyan’s provocative additions to Pilgrim’s Progress show his enriched view of the nature of the Christian life, and will make for provocative discussion. Luncheon $10 - reservations recommended. Volunteer to make beds, serve lunch, and fill any other needs at this amazing place of refuge and transformation. Registration: www.cc-ob.org/loveworks Build Furniture to Support Local Café July 9-10 • 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Create lighting, tables, a coee bar, and other large furniture pieces guided by skilled engineers and carpenters for Communities L!VE Café in Oak Park, IL. This grassroots generated café supports under-resourced individuals in Chicago, oering a space as a means for inspiration towards courageous, authentic, and abundant living. Patrons can enjoy a quality cup of coee and a sense of community. Adults only. Materials and lunch will be provided.
