Story Sacks, Family Learning

Sessions

Taking Care! In the Autumn term all our children take part in a

programme called ‘Taking Care’. This programme runs from Nursery to Year 2 and is specifically designed to teach young

children about keeping themselves safe.

The main principles of the programme are to teach your children:-

1.How to recognise their ‘Early Warning Signs’ (EWS) - signs that they are not feeling safe.

2.To know what these EWS mean, and that they need to tell a trusted adult when they have them.

3.To identify adults with whom they feel safe (this will also include someone in school).

4.The correct names for body parts - this ensures that there are no misunderstandings when a child

is sharing their EWS with a trusted adult.

Your child will come home with work covered during these

sessions; please take the time to discuss this with them and reinforce this very important message. If you have any

questions, please ask your child’s class teacher.

Diwali Dancing

To celebrate Diwali, the Festival of Lights, we are holding a Diwali Dancing Day on

Friday 15th November.

Poppy Class, Reception, Year 1 & Year 2 children will be taking part.

Please return your letter and £3 contribution by Thursday 14th November.

Medication

Only medication that is prescribed more than 3 times daily can be administered by school.

The medication will need to be brought in daily, and a form completed on the first day.

School can only administer medication that has been prescribed by a GP. The

medication must have the official chemist label on it, with the child’s

name and instructions for administering the medicine.
