DIRECTOR-OF-MUSIC APPOINTMENT
Dean Michael announced last week that Vestry has approved the appointment of
James Mist as the new Cathedral Director of Music.
James is currently serving as Music Co-ordinator at St Matthew’s Anglican Church, Hastings, and previously at St Michael’s & All Angels, Kelburn, Welling-ton. James will commence his role at the Cathedral in July (a date for his commissioning has yet to be confirmed). James was a former organ student of Gary Bowler’s!
We look forward to welcoming James, and Frances and Alessandra, to the team and Parish.
This morning, some items of the Sanc-tuary and Chapel furniture have been moved from familiar positions. As a fol-low-up to the ‘Re-pitching the Tent’ discussions, and with the Dean’s ap-proval, we will be experimenting with some temporary positions of furniture from now until Pentecost (24th May). There will be an opportunity for feed-back and comments from congregation, choir and clergy in due course.
