This Week’s Focus Apples
Literacy -Students will identify setting, characters,
and major events in a text.
-Students will ask and answer questions about
key details in a text.
Writing -Students will create a simple thought and
remembering the sentence.
-Students will listen for sounds and write the
corresponding letter in the sentence.
Math Compose (adding) and Decompose
(subtracting) numbers to 5
Explore different ways to get 5. Example 4
and 1 makes 5, 2 and 3 makes 5, 4+1=5, 1+4=5,
5+0=5, 5-1=4)
Tell one more and one less of a given number
Science/S.S. -What are shadows?
-What makes a shadow?
-Students will design a shelter to make
shade.

Please send one or two apples if you have
not already. Choose from Red Delicious,
Golden Delicious, and Granny Smith.
We are doing an activity with them this
week as we are learning about apples and
Johnny Appleseed.
All Money needs to come in an envelope
labeled with child’s name and what the
money is for. We do not have change so
please send the exact amount.
