The LeMay Center for Doctrine Development and Education in October hosted its largest war game ever, bringing in about 350 personnel to focus on space and cyber issues that could develop in 10 years. The center, based at Maxwell AFB, Ala., hosted Air Force Space Command’s Schriever Wargame 2018, which included general officers and dignitaries from more than 27 agencies, along with representatives from eight other countries, according to a Maxwell release. The war game focused on a potential peer adversary exploiting cyber and space, focused on the Pacific. (30 November 2018). BES Building Access. LeMay Center Hosts Massive War Game Focused on Space, Cyber in the Pacific . The LeMay Center for Doctrine Development and Education in October hosted its largest war game ever, bringing in about 350 personnel to focus on space and cyber issues that could develop in 10 years. The center, based at Maxwell AFB, Ala., hosted Air Force Space Command’s Schriever Wargame 2018, which included general officers and dignitaries from more than 27 agencies, along with representatives from eight other countries, according to a Maxwell release. BES Building Access. The BES Campus is implementing the access card security lockdown in a “rollout of one building per week. Building 892 was the first this past week. All buildings will be secured by the week of 18 December. (30 November 2018)

MIP HOLIDAY PARTY!!! Be sure to mark your calendars for the annual MIP Pot Luck Holiday party. It will be Friday 14 December at the usual 0600 time. Anything (except Donuts) welcome. And if you are all good little boys and girls, Santa may stop by to visit (he’s a 2nd cousin of Lee. You’ll see the family resemblance). (2 November 2018)

CoWERX46 Closing Down . The CoWERX46 location in downtown Montgomery is closing on 31 December 2018 after 18 months in operation. (30 November 2018)

Resume Workshop . Tija Brown (Young AFCEA President) and Tom Wojszynski (Google) are setting up a Resume Workshop in early February 2019. While the target participants are Young AFCEANs, we are opening the workshop to anyone who's interested in creating a more effective resume. To assist in the workshop, we are looking for volunteers from MIP who can lend expertise. If interested in helping, please contact Tija at [email protected] or Tom at [email protected]. MGMWerx. MGMWerx has begun to move into their permanent facility on Commerce Street. The ACSC Department of Leadership will present a Leadership Education

Development eXperience: Diversity at the Intersection of Leadership, Strategy, and Innovation. The event will be held 3-4 January 2019 and feature a number of outstanding speakers and presenters. For more information go to www.LEDxAU.com. (16 November 2018)

In conjunction with this conference, MGMWerx is hosting a Pitch Night on 3 January 2019 at 1830, MGMWerx, 41 Commerce Street, Montgomery. The competition will focus on a solution, idea or product that will make the warfighter better, using the theme: Diversity at the Intersection of Leadership, Strategy, and Innovation. PMI Holiday Social . On Thursday December 6, 2018, PMI South Alabama will host an informal social at Irish Bred Pub on Dexter Ave. in Montgomery. Anyone interested in project management is encouraged to come by. This will not be our usual dinner meeting. It's a chance for chapter members and others who are interested in networking to find out more about PMI, the PMP credential, and PM in general. We'll have an open cash bar and some appetizers provided by PMI South Alabama. No admission fee will be charged - buy yourself a drink and come meet PMI South Alabama. (16 November 2018)

War Eagle BEST Competition This Weekend . Both the Wetumpka HS and Cornerstone Robotics teams will be competing this weekend at the War Eagle BEST robotics competition Saturday and Sunday at Auburn University. The completion is open to the public and activities begin at 1300 on Saturday and continue through Sunday afternoon.

Speech and Debate Judges Needed . National Christian Forensics and Communications Association's (NCFCA) Montgomery Speech and Debate tournament will be held January 10-12, 2019 at Taylor Road Baptist Church, Montgomery. 400 judges are needed over the 3 day event to full “three hour” slots. Lunch will be provided. The competition will be for both speech and debate. There will be 2 styles of debate: The team policy debate (2 students debating 2 students) topic is: "Resolved: The United

States Federal Government should substantially reform its foreign policy regarding international terrorism."

The Lincoln-Douglas value debate (1 student debating 1 student) topic is: "Resolved: When in conflict, governments should value fair trade above free trade."

Pete Donohue, who was well known in the Gunter community, passed away last week.

John Lucas, the PEO/BES Comptroller for many years, had his retirement ceremony and luncheon yesterday. Many thanks to John for his service to the Gunter IT world.

The new Comptroller will be Mike Coleman, who is coming to Gunter from his position as the CFO for the B-1 PMO at Tinker AFB.
