Dear Fellow Alumni,

The Tufts University Dental Alumni Association is hard at work putting together a slate of fun and engaging activities that will give you the opportunity to design your own reunion adventure. So please join us April 24–26, 2020, to relive your dental school memories, create new ones, and celebrate with your class, family, and friends.

The weekend will include exciting educational and cultural activities, including two amazing continuing education courses: 3D Engineering in Dentofacial Rehabilitation will be lectured by Wael Att, DDS, Dr Med Dent Habil, PhD, the new chair of the TUSDM Department of Prosthodontics; and Pharmacologic Management of Acute Dental Pain and the Prescription Opioid Epidemic will be lectured by 40th reunioner Richard S. Harold, BS (pharmacy), DMD, JD, D80, A00P, D06P. Additionally, TUDAA will host a family lunch on Friday afternoon followed by a reception in the new dental school lobby on Friday evening. On Saturday, the Annual TUDAA Luncheon will take place at the Four Seasons Hotel Boston, followed by the reunion receptions and class dinners later that evening. The weekend will close with the Dean’s Farewell Brunch on Sunday morning at the Four Seasons.

We thank you for your support and unwavering commitment to TUDAA—it’s because of you that our alma mater continues its impressive rise among the ranks of the world’s great universities.

In closing, I would like to remind every alum of the School of Dental Medicine of the importance of giving back. I ask that you take a moment to reflect on your days at the school and where you are today. Our dental school gave us the opportunity to achieve the quality of life that we have now. Please consider making your reunion class gift and make this the best reunion year yet!

I am proud to serve as president of your alumni association. Do feel free to contact me should you have any questions, ideas, or comments. We look forward to seeing you in April!

Sincerely,

Ancy

Ancy Verdier, A96, D03, DG06President

3D Engineering in Dentofacial RehabilitationWael Att, DDS, Dr Med Dent Habil, PhD4 Continuing Education CreditsCost: $99

Course description:The progressive shift toward implementing digitally driven 3D engineering tools in reconstructive dentistry is obvious. The ultimate goal of digital technologies is to improve the quality and capabilities in examination, diagnosis, and treatment of the dental patient. It is still questionable, however, whether such digital tools facilitate improved accuracy in data acquisition and assessment, superior efficacy in treatment planning, and a more controlled and faster manufacturing process. This exciting presentation will provide an overview of state-of-the-art 3D engineering in comprehensive dentofacial rehabilitation and will discuss different possibilities and advantages when using the digital approach versus the conventional approach.

Course objectives:• Understand the different components of the digital workflow in reconstructive dentistry• See how the combination of different digital technologies can benefit overall treatment• Discover the advantages and limitations of the digital workflow in complex rehabilitations• Explore how future technologies will change the way we practice
