GET OUT YOUR JOURNALS! Warm up: Listen to the London Philharmonic
Orchestra’s Another Brick in the Wall. They cover Pink Floyd, an English rock band famous for their psychedelic and progressive rock music.
As we silently listen, you will write at least 20 words that describe the MOOD.
Read Edgar Allen Poe’s The Bells/Annabel Leeand discuss meaning.
Answer questions using your knowledge of embedding quotes to support your opinion of the mood and tone.
Clarify any unknown words using a dictionary.
You must answer the mood and tone question for each stanza.
This must be turned in by the end of the period. This will be your first grade of the new semester! LEVEL ONE!

For example…
“The tone in Poe’s “Annabel Lee” is passionate. Poe utilizes repetition as he constantly reiterates the setting “in a kingdom by the sea” as well as he continuously refers to his love, Annabel, as “…the beautiful Annabel Lee.” Because he constantly reiterates his lover’s name and the setting where their love flourished and ended, he strikes me as a passionate, obsessive, and over zealous person.
