Why were reforms needed?• Farmers and rural citizens felt their concerns were not being addressed• Railroads had a large amount of power and influence• Oil industry was growing in power and influence• Women could not vote• Spanish speaking people felt they were not having their rights protected• African Americans were being discriminated against• Feeling that men who drank too much alcohol neglected their families
