Correct School Uniform We are a uniform school and proud of it. Recently, a number of students are coming to school with blue jumpers and hoodies which is unacceptable. If you need assistance with school uniform please see the office. We also have a large clothing pool to support families. Our local high school is very strict with their uniform code. If you would like to donate any second hand uniforms there will be a small wheelie bin outside 3/4K. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Toy Story 4 Success Another successful event held for our students. Many happy and excited faces. We had a great night Canteen Nachos Day Another great success for Nicole and the team. Children very, very happy with their lunch. Didjeribone Spectacular Very well received by our students from this internationally renowned didgeridoo player and story teller. Tjupurru is a proud descendant of the Djabere people of the West Australian Kimberlies. Last Day of Term Our last day of term is Friday 5th July. Yours in public education

MILES FOR MILLIE HATS – 10 left!
It was great to have Millicent back at school for an hour on a few days last week. As we saw, she is looking as wonderful as ever, her health is improving and she was very happy to be back around her friends. There are still a few Miles for Millie hats left over, and we would love to sell the final few. These can be purchased from Mrs Moloney for $20 each. Thanks again for your support.

Library News… LIBRARY BUZZ
Hello Everyone!
Last week, some students came home with yellow reminder notes. These notes let you know that your child
has a book or books overdue and that they might need help in locating them. Can you take the time to help the
children find these books and return them to the library before the end of term, please? This way, we can
finalise our admin work and everyone starts off with a clean slate for next term! If your child has lost their
book/s, please send the amount of money written on the note to the Library and we will repurchase new copies
for everyone to enjoy. We would be very grateful.
Local libraries (and old bookshelves at home!) are terrific places to visit in the holidays for great things to read
and do. Why not visit one for some holiday fun and relaxation?
Happy Reading! The Library Teachers

COMMUNITY NEWS
Orienteering is a navigation sport for all ages and levels of fitness, solo or as a family group. All you
need is a map showing where to go, and you decide which way and how fast. Newcastle
Orienteering Club and the City of Newcastle have installed a set of new permanent orienteering
courses at Brickworks Park, Iranda Grove at Wallsend. Club members will be at the course opening
on Saturday 22nd June 11am-2pm, and the courses will be available any time after that.
There are 3 ways you can get copies of the maps and courses:
- pick one up at Wallsend Library.
- download and print copies from newcastleorienteering.asn.au (NOC)
- get the MapRun smart-phone app from maprunners.weebly.com/ and follow the instructions on
the NOC or ONSW web-page.
Brickworks Park has barbecues, toilets and a small playground, as well as the bird hide next to the
pond in the old brickpit, so come and enjoy the facilities of one of your local parks.
