Duri Athletics Carnival Results We had a great day yesterday except for the cold weather. Debating Lucy Cantrill, Deanna Scharffetter, Jacinta Cooper, Harriet Scales participated in the debate today and after a great effort from both teams the Blackville team won the debate. Leisl Cooper was the timekeeper and Lara McKay was the Chairperson. We thank Mr Ian McEachern for adjudicating the debate and to Miss Drayton for organising the team. Chess against Werris Creek Public School Clancy and Eden Walters, Isaiah Morgan-Blair and Michael Hume are in the Chess team that is travelling to Werris Creek Public School today to compete in the Small Schools’ Chess Championships. We wish them luck. A big thank you to Narelle Walters for transporting the students to Werris Creek and staying with them all day. Regional Cross Country Last Friday, 17th June, Harriet Scales competed in the Regional Cross Country at Coolah and came 12th. Great effort, Harriet. Harriet Scales and Lucy Cantrill are representing our school in hockey and netball as part of Timbumburi teams. Small Schools’ Tennis Competition We are up to Round 6 of the Small Schools’ Tennis Competition. The draw for this Friday 24th June is as follows:- Duri A plays Timbumburi A1 - transported by Tina Scales Duri C plays Moonbi - transported by Craig McDonald Please remember to bring in your $3.50 to Mrs Pearson each week that you play. This is our last competition game and the finals are on next Friday, 1st July. All teams play on Finals Day. If anyone can help with transport next Friday, please let Wendy know. Pet Day Pet Day is tomorrow, Thursday, 23rd June. Mrs Rimmer has asked that there be NO PETS ON THE BUS. Thank you.

Tamworth Zone PSSA Softball Claire Brown, Hope Taylor and Emma Ison are attending the Regional softball trials today Wednesday, 22nd June. We wish them luck. Ms Dufty’s Visit Ms Ruythe Dufty, our School Education Director, will be visiting our school next Wednesday, 29th June between 9.30-11.30. Library News Could you ensure that all your child’s library books are returned by the end of this term please. Year 6 T-shirts The 2011 Year 6 T-shirts have arrived and they look fantastic. Students will be asked to pay $25.00 towards the cost of these shirts. Eggs for Sale The school has some free-range eggs for sale if anyone is interested. They sell for $3.00 a dozen. WANTED - An old water tank Would anyone have an old water tank at home that they are not using. The school is interested in obtaining one to hook up to one of our new roof structures. It doesn’t have to be in wonderful condition as long as it holds water.
