   16 Rejoice always,

 

 

 17 pray without ceasing,

18 in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.

19 Do not quench the Spirit.

20 Do not despise prophecies.

21 Test all things; hold fast what is good. 

16 Rejoice always,

Nehemiah 8:10Then he said to them, "Go your way, eat 

the fat, drink the sweet, and send portions to those for whom nothing is 

prepared; for this day is holy to our LORD. Do not sorrow, for the joy of the LORD is 

your strength." 

Philippians 4:4-74 Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will 

say, rejoice! 5 Let your gentleness be known to all men. The Lord is at hand. 6 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything 

by prayer and supplication, with

thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; 7 and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through

Psalm 119:162I rejoice at Your word As one who finds

Ephesians 6:1818 praying always with all prayer and 

supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and 

supplication for all the saints...

Jude 20-2120 But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit, 21 keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord

bedroom, with its windows open toward Jerusalem, and prayed three times a day, just as he always had, giving thanks to his 

God. 

Hebrews 13:15-1615 Therefore by Him let us continually offer 

the sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of our lips, giving thanks to His name. 

16 But do not forget to do good and to share, for with such sacrifices God is well 

pleased. 

19 Do not quench the Spirit.

Ephesians 4:25-3225 Therefore, putting away lying, "Let each one of you speak truth with his 

neighbor," for we are members of one another. 26 Be angry, and do not sin": do 

not let the sun go down on your wrath, 27

nor give place to the devil. 28 Let him who stole steal no longer, but rather let him labor, working with his hands what is 

good, that he may have something to give him who has need. 29 Let no corrupt word proceed out of your mouth, but

what is good for necessary edification, that it may impart grace to the hearers. 30 And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. 31 Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, clamor, and evil speaking be put

away from you, with all malice. 32 And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, 

forgiving one another, just as God in Christ forgave you.

20 Do not despise prophecies.

1 Corinthians 14:1-51 Pursue love, and desire spiritual gifts, but especially that you may prophesy. 2 For he who speaks in a tongue does not 

speak to men but to God, for no one understands him; however, in the spirit he

speaks mysteries. 3 But he who prophesies speaks edification and 

exhortation and comfort to men. 4 He who speaks in a tongue edifies himself, 

but he who prophesies edifies the church. 5 I wish you all spoke with tongues, but

even more that you prophesied; for he who prophesies is greater than he who speaks with tongues, unless indeed he interprets, that the church may receive 

edification.  

 1 Corinthians 12:2828 And God has appointed these in the church: first apostles, second prophets, third teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, administrations, 

varieties of tongues. 

Ephesians 4:11-1411 And He Himself gave some to be 

apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and 

teachers, 12 for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the

edifying of the body of Christ, 13 till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the 

knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the 

fullness of Christ; 14 that we should no

longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, 

by the trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting...

  

21 Test all things; hold fast what is good. 

1 John 4:1-31 Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone 

out into the world. 2 By this you know the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is 

of God, 

3 and every spirit that does not confess that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is not of God. And this is the spirit of the Antichrist, which you have heard was 

coming, and is now already in the world.
