RAY MATTER—The Rays have begun the season 0-2, the fourth time they’ve lost their first 2 games of the season (2011, 2006, 2005)…only once have they lost 3 or more to open the year: they dropped 6 straight in 2011, which began with a 3-game sweep at home at the hands of the Orioles. Ê The Rays have yielded 6 runs in each of the first 2 games…it’s the third time in the last 4 years they yielded 6-plus in consecutive games to open the year…in 2013 they allowed 6 or more in their first 3 games.
