WEDDINGS; Katharine Doyle And Tim WeinerPublished: May 15, 1994
Katharine Temple Lapsley Doyle, a foreign policy analyst at the
National Security Archive in Washington, was married yesterday to
Tim Weiner, a Washington correspondent for The New York Times.
Judge Mary Ellen Fitzmaurice of Queens Family Court performed
the ceremony at Union Theological Seminary in New York.
Ms. Doyle, who is keeping her name, graduated from Brown
University and received a master's degree in international affairs from Columbia
University. She is a daughter of Susanna and L. F. Boker Doyle of New York. Her father,
the chairman of the executive committee of the Fiduciary Trust Company International,
is a trustee of the American Museum of Natural History and the Frick Collection, all in
New York. Her mother is a freelance writer at The Village Voice.
Mr. Weiner graduated from Columbia, from which he also received a master's degree in
journalism. He won the Pulitzer Prize for national reporting in 1988 for his coverage of
secret items in the Pentagon's budget for The Philadelphia Inquirer. Mr. Weiner is a son
of Dr. Dora Weiner and Dr. Herbert Weiner of Encino, Calif. His mother, a professor of
medical humanities at the University of California at Los Angeles, is a co-director of the
university's program on medical classics. His father is a professor emeritus of psychiatry
and biobehavioral sciences at U.C.L.A.
