Commissioned by William Waldorf Astor for his London office and pied-a-terre in 1895, this fully-licensed, riverside mansion is now one of London’s most intriguing and elegant wedding venues.
Say `I do’ in one of our three licensed ceremony rooms and enjoy every aspect of your big day, from ceremony to wedding breakfast and dancing all under one roof.
Sip champagne in Astor’s private Library; surprise your guests with a journey through our secret door; dine in splendour in the majestic Great Hall or dance the night away in the grand Lower Gallery. With a beautiful garden forecourt which acts as a suntrap in the summer months for celebratory drinks and canapés, whatever the time of year Two Temple Place is endlessly flexible and packed with individual charm and character.

Walk down the aisle in the Lower Gallery with its high ceilings and stunning wood panelling as sunlight streams through the large ornate windows.
Alternatively with easy access to both East and West of London, the Lower Gallery provides the perfect setting for that first glass of celebratory bubbles after a Church or registry office ceremony. Situated on the ground floor it can also be used in conjunction with the courtyard to create a versatile summer reception space.
Whilst you and your guests explore the secrets on the first floor of the house, let our trusted suppliers transform the Lower Gallery into a stunning and vibrant party space. Dance the night away to a live band or DJ (late night extensions are available until 4am on request).

The beautiful mahogany staircase at Two Temple Place is adorned with carvings of celebrated literary figures, and flooded with natural daylight from the stunning stained glass canopy overhead.Invite your guests on a journey into Astor’s world of wonder via this magnificent staircase. Cross the unique marble floor inset with onyx and jasper and move up into the Upper Gallery of the house, where your guests will marvel at this ‘perfect gem’ of late Victorian architecture.
The staircase lends itself perfectly to any wedding season, looking equally impressive dressed in garlands of spring or summer florals, adorned with pumpkins, apples and russet hues, or wrapped in holly and mistletoe to complement the complement the stunning fireplace fire.

William Waldorf Astor’s former private Library is a hidden retreat for couples looking for a small and intimate wedding ceremony.
Overlooking the beautiful grounds of Middle Temple, the Library also provides the perfect setting for an after dinner bar, complete with a secret door in the satinwood panelling that leads into the Great Hall. Designed for William Astor as a wholly private space in which to enjoy the treasures of his collections, the exceptionally delicate, low relief carving and recently revealed mahogany floor ensure the room retains the atmosphere of an inner sanctum.

Registrar
Two Temple Place is fully licensed for wedding and civil partnership ceremonies by Westminster Council. Once you have booked your date with the house, please contact the Council directly to book your registrar. Our Events team will be happy to help with contact details
Church weddings
Should you wish to get married in a Church, there are several nearby, including Temple Church for members of Middle and Inner Temple and their families, St. Bride’s in Fleet Street and, for those with a RAF connection in the family, St Clement Dane’s in The Strand.
Two Temple Place is available for exclusive hire only.
A late licence until 4am is available on request.
Dancing can take place in the Lower Gallery and a dance floor must be hired via an approved production supplier.
Dried confetti is not permitted at Two Temple Place. Fresh flower petals may be used as confetti outside only.
