We are delighted to provide you with details regarding Wedding Ceremonies and Receptions at Macdonald Old England Hotel & Spa. A former Georgian residence the Old England, located in the heart of Bowness village, is an elegant Victorian mansion on the shore of Lake Windermere with stunning views of the fells beyond that provides a stunning location for your wedding.

Whether you are planning a small intimate celebration or a more traditional occasion we have a choice of packages to suit every couple. We understand the importance of providing not only the perfect venue and quality service but also the planning and preparation that goes into organising your special day.

With this in mind we are proud to offer a selection of inclusive wedding packages depending on the size of your celebration with an extensive choice of menus to choose from.

Our events team will spend time with you, planning every detail of your day, with this in mind the team will work closely with you in order to help you select the perfect package for your special day.

ONE WEDDING ONE DAY…

Weddings are always special but at Macdonald Old England Hotel and Spa, they are truly unforgettable.

The Garden Suite is a stunning room with full length windows, boasting panoramic views across our Gardens and Lake Windermere, the perfect setting of the wedding of your dreams and the picture perfect backdrop for your wedding photographs.

The Suite is self-contained boasting a private entrance and upstairs private bar.

For a more intimate day we offer our stunning Bay Room for up to 18 guests, which boasts our exclusive view across Bowness Bay and beyond.

The Bay Room offers a Reception area for your arrival drinks and so you can keep your guests in suspense before the grand unveiling of the room for your special day.

Macdonald Old England is a truly unique wedding venue where you can safely say you will be the only special couple on the day to ensure we cater for your every need.

The feedback from everyone that came was that they had a fantastic time and we haven’t had a negative comment about the whole day! Myself and Fraser had an amazing time and you took the stress off us completely!

Our Licenced Civil Ceremony locations are:The Garden Suite (Capacity 100)The Bay Room (Capacity 20)

The Registar will need to be booked directlyby the happy couple.

Booking is possible up to 3 years prior to your wedding date.

Please note an external charge will be apply for the regisrar.

Our Head Chef and award winning team are passionate about the food they serve and know, when it comes to quality, it is the little details that make all the difference. That is why they use only the finest seasonal ingredients and source only the best produce available.
