6 –12 MONTHS BEFORE• Contact wedding coordinator to choose a wedding date

• Indicate if you would like a Symbolic or Legal ceremony (note: selecting a legal ceremony date may take

• longer as the coordinator will need to work with the judge’s schedule)

• Explore your wedding vision: ceremony/reception location, time of the day, esti-mated number of guests

• Select your wedding package

• Send deposit to coordinator to reserve your selected date

• Once deposit is received and processed, a formal confirmation of the email is sent (approximately one week

• after receipt of deposit)

• Coordinator will email forms, pictures and options

• Sign-up for your Honeymoon Registry

• Determine an estimated budget guideline

• Begin clarifying your wedding vision: theme, colors, little extras

• Work with the resort or travel agent to make guest reservations and secure a room block

• Be sure your have your passport and all documents needed; if you are planning a legal wedding,

• the coordinator will be sure you know what the legal forms needed are

• Secure DJ, band, photographers and videographer (be sure to speak to your wed-ding coordinator when booking outside vendors)

4 – 6 MONTHS BEFORE• Determine additional wedding events (welcome cocktail party, rehearsal dinner,

day-after brunch)

• Start planning outside resort activities like golf, tours, etc. if desired

2–3 MONTHS BEFORE• Finalize guest list and room requirements

• Confirm ceremony and reception locations (in case you want to make any changes)

• Select décor option, choose flowers, pick the cake

• Book ceremony musicians with coordinator (Mariachis, violinist, etc.)

• Share with the coordinator any special readings or songs requested for the cer-emony

• Finalize reception chart, seat cards (if applicable) and send to Wedding Coordinator

• Start working on menus

• For legal ceremonies, send completed paperwork to coordinator (MUST be re-ceived at least 2 months prior)

1 MONTH BEFORE• Confirm all décor, floral, cake and “little extras” with coordinator

• Confirm menus for all events (cocktail hour, reception, rehearsal dinner, etc.)

• Book hair and make-up appointments at the spa for bride and bridal party

• Have programs, menus, place cards, etc. printed

• Confirm timeline of event (i.e.: seated for meal, first dance, father daughter dance, cake cutting, etc.)

• Cofirm that all special requests have been noted and planned for

3 WEEKS BEFORE• Review your wedding contract and make final ammendments

• Send guest list of those not staying at the resort to the wedding coordinator

• Be sure the wedding coordinator has your travel schedule and your final guest list, seating charts and events

UP TO 1 WEEK BEFORE• Arrive at the resort (based on the type of ceremony you will have)

• On-site meeting with coordinator to go over all event details and make any last minute changes or additions

• Have a trial hair and make-up run through at the salon if desired

• Set-up a spa day with bridesmaids, mother and other loved ones

• Arrange for welcome bag room drop if desired

• Arrange a private dinner on the beach — just the two of you!

• Leave your wedding dress & groom’s attire with your coordinator to have steamed and prepared for the big day

1 DAY BEFORE• Have a welcome cocktail party, rehearsal dinner or welcome dinner if desired

L E G A L R E Q U I R E M E N T S

In order to legally marry in Sunscape Curaçao Resort, Spa & Casino, there are a few requirements couples need to fulfill. Weddings are available from Monday through Saturday between 10am to 4pm. Bride, Groom and witnesses must arrive to the hotel 4 business days prior to the wedding day (Saturday, Sunday & Public Holidays are not considered business days), the wedding coordinator must receive the following documents in order to start the corresponding application for a marriage in the Civil Registry Office.

Requirements:

• The wedding must take place on the premises

• Services for the Judge is $400 US.

• Wedding petition form and all legal documents must be sent to the resort three months prior to clients’ arrival.

• The Wedding couple must arrive on the island at least 4 working days prior to wedding.

• Certified copy of the wedding couples birth certificates. Both birth certificates must be issued within one year, with an embossed seal and Apostille seal- (On each separate document).

• The birth certificates need to state the names of the parents.

• The Wedding Petition Form must be signed by the wedding couple with the same signature appearing on their passports.

• Copy of valid PASSPORTS with full names and signatures.

• 6 Witnesses are required with a copy of each of their passports- must be 18 years or older.

• If divorced, Certified Copy of the final divorce decree(s) with an embossed seal and Apostille Seal is required. If widowed, Certified Copy of the death certificate for deceased spouse and previous Wedding certificate with an embossed seal and Apostille Seal is required.

• Original Single Certificate (documents of no record of marriage) issued by a register office in place of residence (issued 6 months before the wedding day) with an embossed seal and the Apostille Seal- On each separate document.

• A blood test is NOT required.

• $400 for legal ceremony cancelation within 30 days

• All the documents required must be original and certified copies and must have an original signature with an embossed seal and Apostille Seals, on each separate document.

An Apostille seal: / USA (www.state.gov/www/authenticate/ apostil.html)Canada or other countries papers are to be legalized with a seal at the DutchConsulate.

The Wedding Coordinator will send you the legal request form (Wedding Petition Form) to fulfill the following information: names, addresses, nationalities, ages, occupation & relationship for bride, groom and witnesses, (witnesses can be relatives, friends or anyone who has a passport. Any fees for the above mentioned services are included in our Wedding Packages. It is the couple’s responsibility to have all the documents ready and on time on island.

Important Notes:

• Judges do not celebrate weddings on Sunday or holidays.

• Names on all legal documents must perfectly match (birth certificates, copy of ID and tourist card)

• These documents MUST be sent to the resort three months prior to client’s arrival, with the Wedding couples information form to the attention of the Wedding Coordinator. Please note documents should be sent through courier mail (.e. FedEx or DHL)
