Principal’s Message Week 5 Term 4
Welcome to Week 5.
Our school will celebrate NAIDOC Week this week. Current restrictions prevent visitors
coming into the school and whole school assemblies are still unable to occur so we will mark
the event with all students participating in NAIDOC activities within their classroom.
Our annual BOOK WEEK event will be held on Friday 27 November. Students are
encouraged to come dressed as their favourite book character.
External Validation and Situation Analysis
Tomorrow the school evaluation team will be meeting with an external validation panel. The
purpose of this is for the school to show evidence of where it sits in relation to the “School
Excellence Framework”. The team have put together a comprehensive document that
supports our evaluation. The information gained from discussions with the panel will form the
basis of our school situation analysis and will provide key information that will be used in the
development of our next 5 Year Strategic Plan.
P&C Meeting
Our next P&C meeting will be held this Thursday 12 November at 6pm in the upstairs meeting
room at the Wicklow Hotel. I hope to see you there.
End of Year
As we enter the final term, I would ask that the school is informed of any intention to leave our
school or relocate to another town. Enrolments for 2021 are very tight, especially as we are
now restricted with the number of places we can offer to out of zone students. There is no limit
on the number of in-zone students that can be accepted.
Touch Football Gala Day
It was so lovely for our students to be involved in the inter-school touch football gala day last
Thursday. It seems like forever since we were able to participate in events such as these.
Thank you to Rhiannon Trott, Anne-Maree Pattison, Jeanenne Gale and Cam Pryce for
making this possible.

Year 6 Statement of Account
To support end of year financial processes and planning, we have issued Year 6 students with a
“Statement of Account”.
If the statement shows an amount in the ‘Unallocated Credit’ line, and there are no siblings attending Ben
Venue Public School, this credit may be used to cover any outstanding fees or payments for events such
as the Year 6 dinner. Alternatively, you can request a refund by completing a ‘Student Refund Application’
form. Please contact the front office, and we will send a form home with your child or email one to you.
As the end of the year is fast approaching and this credit will not follow your child to High School, we ask
you to respond promptly, to enable us to process refunds in a timely manner.
Please note, any financial transactions processed after Friday 6 November will not be visible on this “Statement of Account”.
