Making evaluation useful and influential
Michael Quinn Patton is the Founder and CEO of Utilization-Focused Evaluation, an independent organizational development and program evaluation organization. He is the former President of the American Evaluation Association (AEA) and author of eight major evaluation books including fourth editions of Utilization-Focused Evaluation and Qualitative Research and Evaluation Methods used in over 500 universities worldwide.
He has also authored books on Practical Evaluation, Creative Evaluation, and Developmental Evaluation: Applying Systems Thinking and Complexity Concepts to Enhance Innovation and Use. He co-authored a book on the dynamics of social innovation and transformation with two Canadians entitled Getting to Maybe: How the World is Changed. He is a recipient of the Myrdal Award for Outstanding Contributions to Useful and Practical Evaluation Practice, the Lazarsfeld Award for Lifelong Contributions to Evaluation Theory, and the 2017 Research on Evaluation Award, all from AEA. He regularly conducts training for The Evaluators’ Institute and the IPDET. His latest books are Principles-Focused Evaluation (2018) and Facilitating Evaluation: Principles in Practice (Sage Publications, 2018).

Steps to join the webinar via Zoom
1. Click on the meeting link, sent via email and also available in the UNICEF Evaluation and EVALSDG’s website.
(links to be inserted)
2. A window will prompt, click on ‘download and run zoom’ (if needed).
3. Once the plug-in is downloaded, click on ‘Run’ and install it.
• (Installation may have some difficulties if user has low bandwidths, if ‘Open Zoom meetings’ or
download & run Zoom does not appear, please close your window then go back to step one)
4. After installing the plug-in, click on ‘Open Zoom meetings’ tab.
5. A window will prompt, click join with computer audio.
6. Enter your name and enjoy the webinar!
