Installation, activation and configuration of SFTP with WebDriveUse WebDrive to access your homefolder or other network drives using SFTP

1. Introduction

In this manual we explain how to install and configure a network connection with the TU Delft file-server. The manual consists of two parts:

• Installing WebDrive on Windows• Configuring SFTP (SHH)

To set-up a connection we use the program WebDrive that is available from the TU Delft (http://software.tudelft.nl).

• First you must install the program WebDrive• After installing you can connevt to the TU Delft network using SFTP.

Before you beginThe following instructions are supported by TU Delft and have been tested to be working. We are offering this manual to you as an extra service. In the event you have a different configuration or version of Windows to the one described here and you have problems connecting, we advise you to contact your nearest Service Desk, Student IT Desk (SID) or Workstation services (WPS).

Follow these steps to install WebDriveStep 2. Click on downloads and download WebDrive for your Operating System

Step 1. Go to software.tudelft.nl and click ‘WebDrive’

Step 4. Click Next.Step 3. Run the installation file that you have just downloaded

Step 6. Click Next.Step 5. Accept the License Agreement terms and click Next.

Step 7. Click Install.

Step 9. A pop-up window appears with a message that you have to restart the computer. Click Yes.

Step 8. Click Finish to complete the installation.

Step 11. Select License Information, click Activate License.

Step 10. Click on Help / Info.

When Windows starts, WebDrive will automatically start.

If it doesn’t start, start WebDrive manually.

Step 13.In this window you can enter the license key. The license key is located on software.tudelft.nl. Click Finish.

Step 12. Click Activate License.

Follow these steps to configure SFTPStep 2. In this window, Select SFTP (SSH). Click Next.Step 1. In this window, click New.

Step 4. In this window you can type the Site Name , URL / Address and Account information.In the URL / Address field type sftp.tudelft.nlIn the field Username type your netid. (without extra’s)In the field Password type your (netid) password.Check the Connect at login/Startup (user preference)

Step 3. Click Advanced Settings.

Step 6. When done you are able to connect and access the Network Location

Step 5. Click on SFTP settings and set the SFTP version to Version 3. Click OK.
