Jefferson Are #3 president Mr. Jefferson has a greathistory. He was famous for his face carved inMt. Rushmore. He was are president that diedon July 4, 1826, the same day that former

president, John Adams died. July 4 th is now aholiday that includes fireworks. He wasDemocratic-Republican. He was 6 feet 2

inches tall. He also wrote the document, theDeclaration of Independence and you willhear more about it in this Power point.

The Birth Of Thomas Jefferson

Thomas Jefferson was born on April13, 1743 in Virginia. His fatherPeter Jefferson had built a woodenfarm house where his family couldlive. He name the house Shadwellafter the danger and perishing inLondon and his wife Jane Jefferson

got christened. He owned more thena 1,000 Acers of land. Tom had 2

sisters and 1 brother.

Toms Education

For Toms school, hisdad sent him to a privateschool with a privatetutor. After that he wassent to a school inNorway. He lived therefor 5 years and only

came back on theholidays. He learned howto speak Latin Frenchand Greek.

A Sad Day

When Tom was 14 , his father diedat a age of 50. For Toms inheritance

He got 5 parcels of land, 50 horses,21 slaves, education, and a well-wornbook of

Shakespeare.

A New School For Tom

For School He went to Reverend James Maury . The Reverend taught 5 students. 1 of

them was Dabney Carr. Theyimmediately became friends, butthen Tom asked himself what todo with his life so he went tocollege. After that hen

graduated. While he was incollege, he drew his plans for

his dream mansion Monticello.

A few years later Tom wasworking with the government.

He also met Mary Skelton and got married. The Congress wasworking on the document theycalled the Declaration of

Independence and they choseTom to write it. So he wrote it in17 days. When He grew ranks.

He became vice president.

being built. Thiswould be Toms new

home. He also heard

that his sister gotmarried to his friend Dabney Carr.

Tom was growing old and was going

to die soon. It was also almost theanniversary of the Declaration ofIndependence. So the exact thinghappened. Tom died on July 4 th 1826. That was the life of Thomas
